You had 2 sons. The eldest was a straight A student, 4.0 GPA, who speaks 5 languages and earned a double degree in Medicene and Science before getting a research position at a pharmaceutical giant. However despite his academic intelligence he has always been exetremely socially awkward and uptight, has close to no friends and never had a successful long term relationship with a girl. He's never broken a law in his life, hates television and loves to read.

Your younger son meanwhile spent most of highschool getting Ds in everything. Was frequently in trouble for minor offenses, mainly petty fights and casual drug use. Never got beyond a high school education, had tons of close friends, a conga line of boyfriends and girlfriends. But maintained an incredible standard of physical fitness the whole time.

He was undefeated on the wrestling team, a pretty decent tackle and after graduating became an MMA fighter where he is currently 14 - 0 with 12 KOs, 2 Submissions all in the very first round and is widely considered the best fighter in his weight class. The world champion Ruddock has been heavily critized for allegedly ducking him.

The two brothers never got along but after the other parent died they both took out their grief on each other. The older sees the younger as a dumb thuggish brute who does nothing but embarrass himself. He's also extremely jealous of the younger one's better looks/fame and fortune but will never admit it.

Meanwhile the younger one thinks the older is a pompous ass but is extremely jealous of how much smarter and more respected he is.

One day the elder son runs up to you excitedly to tell you that his team are going to win the GJL Award for Medicine due to their research and invites you come to the ceremony in Toronto on the 27th to be there with him to him accept it.

Then your young son pipes up. "The 27th? No he can't do that. That's my PPV main event for the world championship. He's going to be there in the front row at Wembley Stadium with 90,000 fans to see me win."

"Well then you'll have 89,999 people who think Raphael is a ninja turtle and Dostoevsky is a type of lavatory disinfectant to enjoy you wailing your fists around in your underpants to win the right to wear an ugly looking belt, while we'll be off celebrating something that actually matters."

"Hey I've been working for years for this title shot. Not sitting around in some fancy lab looking at screens all day. I've actually shown dedication to earn something!"

"You've been dedicated!? This is my life's work! My radical new gene threapy will affect hundreds of thousands of people!"

"Oh so like a small fraction of the tens of millions of people who are going to tune in to see me beat up Nate 'SugarBear Boom Boom' Ruddock on the 27th. The numbers don't lie. I bring joy and inspiration to millions, no one even knows who you or the JLA even is."

"Oh speaks, it's GJL and the inspiration of neanderthals flinging feces at each other and chesthumping like animals to impress prospect mates? How riveting."

"Hey I have a husband. When was the last time you laid?"

"I'm not dignifying that."

"That long eh? Or are you a virgin?"

"Look! He's coming to my award ceremony and that's that. I'm sure he can watch the 'highlights' of your slugfest on Fox News later... Perhaps as a sleeping aid before bedtime?"

"Well it's not up to you is it Einstein? It's up to him. So what are you going to do on the 27th dad?"



They both look at you expectantly.

Honestly, I would have to go to the younger sons championship fight. While the oldest did something great, he is already the winner. I understand being their for the reward but he doesnt need me in his corner at that time. But i would tell the youngest son, that after he wins and if i go he has to give a shout out to his brother for winning the award and say that his dad raised two champions. One needs me there to win the award and the other already won an award but is just being presented. I then tell them we are all going out to celebrate both of their accomplishments for their mom.

Being terrible at school, getting into fights, getting in trouble for minor offenses, and not having the skill to do anything but wrestle or being an MMA fighter is shameful.

Him being married in a stable relationship is the only good thing.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste, the oldest son clearly understands this, the younger one is a fucking idiot, plenty of people who do sports are also smart, or know how to apply themselves in school should plan A not work out.

The younger son literally has no fall back if he was a failure in school.
