3-3 keeps me from giving its story a perfect 10, but otherwise fantastic.

I'm not as big on 3-5 as others, but overall the game tells a great overarching story with no low points. It's kind of disappointing that no games in the series have been able to recapture exactly what T&T did - which is pretty much AJ's fault, but that's a different discussion.

I think Dual Destinies did a good job crafting another overarching narrative, but T&T was just something special. I guess it helped that we already had two games of caring about Phoenix, Mia, and Maya before T&T tried to wrap up their stories. DD's story felt much more self-contained.

Every case in the game is good and contributes to the overall story, even in small ways. The ending was as close to perfect as it gets (which makes 4-0 all the more unforgivable, but that's a rating for another time). There's a reason every subsequent AA game follows T&T's formula.

Well I think that's part of what I meant about AJ messing up canon. They had a chance to start with another overarching narrative and they did...that. The series has been playing catchup ever since.

Basically I preferred the "loosely connected batch of standalone stories" feel of the first two games.

That was the joke !

Never liked Mia and Godot so was never as in love with T&T as others were. Defo below the first game and investigations, and probs preferred the overarching story in spirit of justice but that game had worse filler cases.

Basically flawless, although if it has one it's that it doesn't really "hit" hard enough to get to a 10 for me. It's just extremely good at what it's doing. A perfect 9!

3-1 is my favorite opening case in the series
3-2 is one of my favorite middle cases in the series
3-3 is ok. It has grown on me but it certainly has issues
3-4 sets up the final case perfectly
3-5 is my favorite case in the entire series

Would be a 10 if 3-3 was better. 3-2 and 3-5 are incredible, and 3-1 and 3-4 are both great setup cases that contribute to the overall narrative. So it has both great parts and a great cohesive narrative.

3-5 is a little convoluted and messy honestly and the tension ends long before the case does, but it's an emotionally satisfying conclusion to the series. 3-1 and 3-4 succeed really well at setting things up, giving some much needed depth to Mia, and just generally being cool cases. The other two are worse but wtv, they both have some cool memorable moments even if as a whole they aren't amazing.

This game is a masterpiece. I am not a fan of 3-3 like most people are but I feel like giving this anything less than a 10 wouldn't do this game justice, because every other case in this game is fantastic. Even the tutorial case is one of the best cases in the series
I wonder if they will ever top this one...
