Are you an anti-vaxxer?

The family of beloved grandmother, 47 y/o Fernanda Vega died last week from COVID-19 have now RECONSIDERED their anti-vax stance and now WANT the shots!!

She's a mother of and grandmother of TEN, and is a longtime healthcare worker who died on July 13th from the virus

Her grieving husband, Ysmael is now looking to get their entire family vaccinated after previously refusing to do so due to anti-vax sentiments on the side effects

He tells Fox 10, "With what i have experienced, i don't want to go through this again. I do not"

He said she was the rock of this family and everybody went to her for everything as they relied on her a lot

Ysmael himself is still recovering from the virus that he got weeks ago prior to his wife's death and it was in fact HIS diagonsis that SPREAD the virus in the household with both his 17 y/o son and wife catching it

Her symptoms got worse however thinking she was going to survive it and she was admitted to a local Phoenix hospital as they found a blood clot in her lungs with a weak pulse.

She died within an HOUR of arriving

Dr. Joshua LaBaer noted nearly all covid deaths now are among the unvaccinated and the number of new cases in Arizona has quadrupled as nearly half of America are still refusing the shots

Arizona used to see a rolling average of 500 cases per day but is now seeing 1000 cases a day with the US virus rate now rising

A Gofundme page was launched with now over 17,000 in donations.

Are you anti-vaxxer?

If they wanted to use a Bio-Weapon on us they could just put shit in the water supplies. Acting like the government or these companies have to plan a long term hoax on Covid just to put a bio-weapon into us is dumber than the stupid shit 9/11 truthers believe.

It's unusual, but not that implausible. To pull some hypothetical numbers out of nowhere, if she had her first kid at 20, having 4 by 25 is pretty feasible. Four children between the ages of 22 and 27 could pretty easily have produced a combined 10 grandchildren, since that's 2-3 each.

Again, that is indeed quite unusual, but it doesn't actually require any teen pregnancies at all to pull off, which is where I'd personally draw the line for "super-crazy."

It depends on how many kids she had. For example, If she had 10 kids at a rate of one kid a year starting at age 17 the youngest would be 20 by now. Its plausible then that all 10 had one child.

Do you complain about victim blaming when someone who drives drunk dies in a car crash, too?

By current statistics, her death was 99% preventable. The biggest tragedy here is that a 47 year old could be so ignorant. Glad her family has chosen to learn from this.

Gloat? No. That would be stupid and pointless. Be glad that her family has taken something positive from this tragedy by learning from her mistake? Yes. This was completely preventable, and while it would be better if it had been prevented, the next-best outcome is for everyone involved to learn from it and prevent it from happening again.

If you round to the nearest whole percentage point, which is a pretty reasonable thing to do to save precious syllables in lazy colloquial speech. If that bothers you, you can mentally prepend the word "almost" to "completely" and improve the precision.

He never said anything about 100% but its good to see you jump to a bad faith argument that quickly.

At this point in the pandemic, deaths are occurring almost exclusively amongst the unvaccinated.

So they aren't 100% effectively and don't guarantee someone won't contract or die from covid, got it. You should word your posts more carefully to avoid spreading misinformation on this very important topic, lives are on the line you know.

I know you are a troll engaging in bad faith arguments for reasons unknown, but engaging in pedantic arguments doesnt really make a strong case. It just kind of makes you look like a goof who cant respond to the topic so you pick word choice.

For the record since February, 9000 people have died in Texas from Covid. 43 were fully vaccinated.

Ill have to be on the lookout now, knowing how hard of a time you have understanding minor hyperbole.

Im not comparing anything. I didnt mention the other post in the post you quoted, at all, which would be required for comparison. Im simply asking that you use proper sentence structure around this topic. As you put it, lives are on the line (you missed a comma here) you know (and a question mark here)

Being vaccinated reduces the risk of death by somewhere in the range of 99.5-99.7%. That rounds up to 100, even without considering that breakthrough deaths have been pretty much entirely restricted to people much older than 47 and that the risk reduction is even higher for her demographic.

Reigning_King posted...
I shouldn't have to mentally cover over your misinformation, you shouldn't have posted it in the first place. Other people skimming the topic might have been tricked by it if I hadn't called you out.

How's this, then: I would stake my own life on the belief that, had she been vaccinated, she would still be alive. In fact, I literally have, given that I'm relying on that same vaccine to protect me from such a fate. The odds of a fully vaccinated 47-year-old dying of Covid are so infinitesimally remote that I am as comfortable ignoring that possibility as I am ignoring the possibility that a meteor crashes into my house.

If you genuinely believe that my statement was misleading in any meaningful capacity, I invite you to provide evidence of the practical impact it might have had if not for your intervention. If not, you should really stop clinging so desperately to this apparent opportunity to pretend you're smarter than me. You're not fooling anyone, so it's really just embarrassing to watch. While you're at it, I advise that you stop trying to look for such opportunities. You simply don't know enough about the subject to ever find a real one.

That doesn't need a question mark, actually. Depending on how it's being said, one might be appropriate, but given the phrasing here, it's not so much a matter of asking if I know as it is telling me that I should be considering something I already know.

If hes phrasing it as something that you already are aware of, it should be as you know. Its usage is unclear and we must strive for absolutely clarity in all messages related to COVID-19. The very fact that you interpret the intonation of the last two words differently than I do illustrates the need for him to clean up the post.
