Im most surprised Ryu Hayabusa never actually happened. He got leaked by a guy who seemed to know what he was talking about for a while there, and hes a sufficiently classic and sufficiently Japanese character.

I personally have no excitement for this but happy for the fans! Great last choice, Sakurai. Calling back to that poll from 6 years ago is amazing. Sounds like this might have been planned as the final DLC all along.

Sora has been my dream character since 3rd party characters became a possibility but I had written off the possibility years ago given how complicated all the rights would be. I'm still just... Can't believe this is actually happening. My two favorite series in the world crossing over.

Not for me (zero KH experience and never was a fan of Disney before Marvel and Star Wars gets). But Sora's definitely deserved so it's hard to be mad about it.

If anything this just makes me dislike getting Kazuya before this more. Thankfully Fighter Pass 2 gave me Mythra who's A++ but the rest is honestly meh (although Steve is a fun troll). Then again FP2 is probably better than the first, although Banjo was by far the most exciting addition overall.

like someone said before the reveal though, the final DLC character really just feels like the end of Smash since it's hard to expect building up this massive roster again, so yeah gonna be bummed a bit

the funny thing about Byleth is how at the time of announcement, (s)he was gonna be the grand-final character

I actually like Byleth (although obviously would prefer Edelgard), but Sora definitely fills the slot better.

They undoubtedly forced them to go incredibly safe.

Er, does he? With multiple normal extends that give different effects when not used, the way side B works, and the ability to cancel up B into side B, I'm expecting Bayonetta-type nonsense. Sure the down B command counter is really boring and seems like it's only there to make FE haters mad again, but hey.

Huh, didn't even realize there's not even a hint of Donald and Goofy. Part of me wonders if it's not strictly them being completely unable to get any Disney stuff, and more that they refused any deal that would prevent them from re-releasing the game on future platforms with every character? Can't imagine they would have gone this barebones on content for the final character otherwise, no matter the cost, especially after how embarrassing the Cloud release was.
