Switch between those two options. PC may be the best imho (because of mods), but the console ports are quite good.
Mobile hasn't updated to the most recent version yet and you'd be missing quite a bit of endgame content, and the game isn't really designed for touchscreen controls, imho.

If you get it on switch and would like to do a multiplayer farm sometime, my friend code is 4161-6262-3445.

That is Chucklefish (Wargroove), but I believe that they were the original publishers for Stardew

It's not a stardew sequel though. It just looks the same because the dude does the art himself and only can do one artstyle. The game itself looks like one of those item shop RPGs in the vein of Recettear.

It looks like Stardew for more reasons than just the art. He's clearly using the same engine, and the combat and the overworld both look almost identical to Stardew.

He said in a response on Twitter that the game won't cost more than Stardew ($15), which is awesome because he could no doubt charge $30 and most people would still buy it.

I have no issues whatsoever with it being so reminiscent of Stardew. He is a lone creator and if he has found a niche in the market and can be the gold standard inside of it, he should run with it for as long as he wishes. The first time through Stardew was amazing and if I could go back into it blind, I would. This, in a way, gives me that opportunity.

Honestly I'd be way more interested in this game if it was more like stardew. What I liked about that game is how it improved on the farming game genre, which I love. Item shop/crafting RPG? zero interest

I'm not going to nitpick the definition of sequel, but it's a game made in the same engine clearly inheriting many game play elements.

My point is that it looks like it's not the same game, while still being a continuation of a lot of what makes Stardew Stardew.

If it's not close enough for you, however, then that is a shame.

No, its a new engine written in C#/Monogame however there are some areas where I can reuse code from Stardew Valley, so that is nice.

Is the gameplay similar to Stardew Valley?
In some ways, yes, but in many ways, no.
Like Stardew Valley, Haunted Chocolatier is another town game, where you move to a new town and try your hand at a new way of living. Youll get to know the townspeople, achieve your goals and make progress in many ways. All of that is similar to Stardew Valley. However, the core gameplay and theming are quite a bit different. Haunted Chocolatier is more of an action-RPG compared to Stardew Valley. And instead of a farm being the focal point of your endeavors, its a chocolate shop.

I get bored of farming games quickly but recettear was fun, so I'll probably give this a try. The winter/ghost aesthetic is much better too

it's a new engine but it's certainly in the style of Stardew and shares a lot of mechanics - the town and relationships will be very similar, and the combat looks the same. hopefully more depth there. in all respects it looks like a sequel to Stardew Valley. Honestly, any more similar and it would just look like the same game.

I couldn't get into Stardew Valley. There was a lot of stuff, and it never really became compelling (and the hook didn't really do anything for me). Maybe the gathering and creating concept here will work better.
