I just accept I'm getting hit by the snakes half the time. They won't kill you on their own.

Can't even see the fucking snakes half the time, especially later when it's all piled on top of each other. They really should change the color I think.

Luckily Zodiark EX is like the easiest EX ever where you just follow the one person who knows how to do the mechanics.

i wish the fight itself was harder and cooler, it really deserved to be a memorable challenge and not innocence tier

also ffxii zodiark would have been a much more unique and interesting design, zodiark's xiv design feels a little generic to me

Queue times on my server are still multiple hours long of you try logging after like 4pm.

Apparently they took all their internal testing servers and pushed them over to production to ease load, but actual hardware purchases are on back-order because of the same part shortages everyone else is facing.

Because they didn't order any ahead of time

Tbh SE has bragged about the game exploding in popularity over the past 8 years, far before the WoW exodus and shortage. They had plenty of time to upgrade and get more servers. The game pop alone doubled from from Heavenward to Stormblood and only continued growing at an extreme rate

decided to powerlevel all my DoH jobs to 30 today so i can desynth whatever and dump all the low level crafting gear that was clogging up my inventory

Finally in the Lv89 MSQ for EW. Just landed in the final zone and looking at the map, one of the aetheryte locations being called Base Omicron is really funny to me. We really are in the final days in real life huh lol. Omicron is based.

I'm playing on Crystal, Zalera and the queue's always been in the 19~50 range every day, regardless of time, when I go to log in. I think only once last Saturday was it above 200, and even then it only took me like 15ish minutes to get it -- I just ate some food while I waited.

The final zone of EW is a 10/10. That is all

I defeated the Dalriada and Diablo Armement thing in Zadnor, Bozja.

Is that it for the Bozja storyline? I never have to go there again?

What's a reasonable approximation of performance uplift from a 10 point ilvl increase? not sure if i'm wanting to chase the gear progression game each time and maybe upgrade every other ilvl increase outside of what I get from ramdom drops, insetad concentrating on other stuff.

It's not that easy/simple. They are actively trying to spend even OVER market value on hardware, but there is a global semiconductor shortage, on top of it being extremely specialized equipment. It's not something they can poof out of thin air.

Not something you can realistically gauge as a big chunk of your damage is tied to weapon upgrades, rather than right and left side. The only way to realistically examine this is logs and parsing.

Not to mention secondary stats can make lower ilvl pieces more desirable (ex: WAR really doesnt want direct hit at all so better itemized, lower ilvl pieces are more desirable in certain slots).

There is a little bit of theory crafting obviously, but as you can see below left and right side upgrades contribute very little to DPS increases compared to raw weapon damage:

Er, tank gear doesn't have direct hit though? Unless you're referring to melds.

Yeah, it'd be nice if they changed direct hit to affect potency of it as well.

Hit item level 570 on my Monk so I can do the first savage raid. Woo!

Treasure dungeon seems pretty easy this time around. For some mob configurations my healer basically didn't need to do any healing

I'm upset the white weapons are the savage ones.

My friend was getting hit pretty hard by the territorial mobs that spawn all at once, rather than in waves. We didn't have that much trouble to clear the Excitatron though, even got through the whole thing once lol

Did maps with my FC. Got like 3 of the materia exchange items, everyone else was getting all the randomly assigned loot. Then I won 2 rolls and got 4 cloth of happiness. Made 6 mil. <3

But seriously, when there's 5 people and 5 items randomly distributed and you get nothing 6 times in a row (I'm not counting the loot bags that drop shards) it's just like. *sigh* Wtf is my luck?

I actually haven't looked at the new fashion outfit things yet, but if they make my ass look bigger then yes I need them.

Oh, I ended up getting a fashion accessory, those wings that appear when you're moving between the platforms in the excitatron (archangel wings)

I got marked for spoilers on that first one even though it was literally in promotional materials and announced prerelease you'd be fighting him.

Please try to keep trials spoiler marked for those still in the middle of EW.

Speaking of, I got lucky enough to get the second trial boss of EW for a duty roulette. We wiped like 4 times. This boss is amazing

I have yet to try any Extreme trials that were released. Maybe I will soon.

How are you supposed to get good at something if you keep getting kicked? You're supposed to go in being perfect at it immediately, without any practice?

Never done savages, but are they just the same exact thing as the regular version, but more HP or whatever?

Savages have an entirely different second half of the fight. It's more than just additional hit points, it has a bunch of new mechanics and a set timer ("enrage") that if you can't do enough damage quickly enough automatically wipes the entire party. Compared to regular, savages require significant and ongoing coordination between the entire party and consistently high dps. In the opening days of a Savage even a single character dying can cause the entire party to fail to do enough damage before the enrage timer goes off.

Generally, Savage content, especially when it's brand new, is reserved for guilds and statics. Groups of individuals that know each other, can set aside time to practice, and are coordinating over a discord or some other voice chat.

It's extremely difficult to get good and clear a Savage that just came out if you're not in one of those two groups. By the time people are hitting party finder they already know the mechanics and are just grinding in between clears.

Savage content is the most challenging stuff in the game. The bosses always have new mechanics and they are far less forgiving for messing up. Some savage raids even have the boss transform into another form which means you have to learn two fights in one.

Luckily if you die on the second form you don't have to fight the first form again
