Do you think he just destroyed his glamourous career?

The first US Military member has been FIRED as 39 y/o Commander Lucian Kins, a Navy Warship commander who REFUSED to get the COVID-19 vaccine AND submit to testing to prove he did not have the virus was kicked to the curb!!

The executive officer of the USS Winston Churchill was terminated at his position and is the first naval officer to be fired over vaccine refusal.

He requested a religious exemption to the military's vaccine requirement but was denied and is now appealing the decision

The Pentagon has made the vaccne mandatory for all service members and Navy personnel had until late November to get their shots or request exemptions.

Thousands have asked for religious exemptions but so far none has been approved

It remains unclear if Kins will be reinstated if his appeal is approved

He was relieved of his duties as second in command of the USS Winston Churchill, a destroyer, by Navy Capt. Ken Anderson

Spokesman Jason Fischer declined to give a reason on the termination because of privacy but stated that Anderson lost confidence in Kins ability to perform his duties and failed to obey a lawful order

Lt. Comander, Han Yi, the ship's plans and tactics officer is temporarily serving as executive officer until a replacement is filled

Kins was on track to become the warship's commander within the next year and a half and was stationed in Florida

over 5700 sailors are still unvaccinated and the Navy has signed off on 7 permanent medical exemptions, 326 temporary medical exemptions and 125 administrative exemptions

over 2700 want a religious exemption but none have been approved as the continued push for vaccination comes as Omicron variant is making its spread

Do you think he just destroyed his career?

Sailor.

And he was stood down, not fired.

Either way, still going to be a court martial. He was given a direct lawful order, that he disobeyed. The best case scenario for him is if he pleads guilty and receives a dishonourable discharge, worst case, he fights it and ends up doing hard time in Leavenworth.

Supreme court has ruled that vaccine mandates are legal and did so before you were born. And that's not even getting into the legalities of DoD mandated medical treatment.

Besides, he is not being punished for refusing to get the shot, but for refusing a direct order.

Legally, no he does not. Active duty service members cannot sue the US Government. They have to go through a claims process.

but this man is a sailor, not a soldier, since he is exclusively the navy.

glad we can come to this agreement.

and it's the same everywhere there's a military. they're very clearly defined definitions, show me a military where they call a land soldier a sailor.

And yet the Brits continued to fight the Americans. Funny how that worked. Similarly funny that fighting another war to keep Canada (where I'm actually from, you silly goose) was worthwhile, despite their considerable geographical similarity. It's almost like the issue wasn't actually that the US wasn't worth keeping, it was that it wasn't worth drawing out a losing war over.

Based on a quick google, Scotland's FASD incidence is around 3-5%, while the most robust study I could find for England found a 17% incidence. You should really check statistics before letting your slavering nationalism make you look silly like that.

There's nothing gratuitous about using french words for french phrases. "En masse" means "in bulk," which makes actual sense in this context. "On mass" means you're sitting on Catholics, which doesn't make sense much of anywhere.

If you wanted to speak English instead of French, you should have spoken English, not spoken French but written it using the closest available English homophones. That's never the most appropriate choice, and instead just means you're joining the ranks of "bone apple teeth" and "koo day tah."

Heck, even "in mass" would have been a valid sentence, but you chose to pretend you were speaking French with English words for some reason.

It's for if you're getting out soon. Or because of work requirements and stuff like that. Basically, exemptions where they are fine, but don't fall under medical, religious, etc... Well, unless they want to count religious under them, as well...

Either way, I know a bunch of people that got an administrative exemption. Many were almost done with their enlistment, and just held out not getting it until they could apply for it...
