I got no time for Rittenhouse. Dude may not have broken the law but he had a gun he had no legal right to own and went to a place he doesn't live purely to fuck with black people. The only thing the media misinformed people about was that he crossed state lines with a gun rather than crossing state lines then obtaining a gun.

I don't get why people are just poo pooing media misinformation though. It's a real thing and a big problem. Especially including social media.

I mean the public perception of the Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin shooting comes to mind. The honest public perception was that Zimmerman was a cop who chased a small boy down a dark alley, shot him in the back and got off on Stand Your Ground laws because cops are racist. The media even doctored his police phone calls to make him sound racist and lightened photos of him to make him look paler and less hispanic to promote a headline grabbing story.

Despite all the facts in incredible detail being public, people openly don't look at them because they prefer their media of choice's misinformation.

Now regardless of your thoughts on anything else, if you're okay with that perception and the open media lies/distortion/promotion of it to get clicks/ratings/revenue then that's a problem.

As we speak look at how media is covering the Trucker "protest" in Canada that's making it way to the US. And January 6th.

They're promoting them as on par with gay rights marches and openly calling the government fascists for trying to break it up

You won't see Fox News say "Hiliary Clinton is a Pedophile."

You will hear them say "We have our legal analyst Billy Piper here today who has pointed out that Clinton's newest Lawyer is Antony Nutsmuck who is an expert in cases involving cilents defending accusations of child abuse and molestation. What could that mean Billy?"
