I dunno if you really need Kaijus in N/R fest. How many unoutable cards even are there in that rarity lmao.

I was considering a few options. I think Plant Synchros is something I'll probably like a lot. Pacifis Spiral or whatever might also be cool

With the right SR or UR support there's a few N things that can become hard to out if allowed to hit the board but with only other N and R cards, I can't think of any particular combos that would do that on any single monster on turn 1. Maybe one or two with a trap card on turn 2 but only if the opponent has no backrow prevention. :/

No, no, I was just thinking of how to prevent myself from 'not having fun' because the opponent put negate(s) after going first.

Also my mistake, Gamaciel is SR.

I just put Lava Golem that I got and call it a day. When it says 'You take 1k LP dmg' it's us who take 1k LP and not the opponent, right?

Gadarla, Radian, Jizukiru, and Thunder King at all R-rarity Kaijus. Gadarla being the most used one because it has the lowest ATK and (though this part wouldn't be relevant in the N/R event) because it can still be summoned and remove monsters when a Lyrilusc Tri-Brigade player has Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds out because it's also Wind attribute. The others see niche use depending on the deck, like Jizukiru being used with Cyber Dragons because it's a Machine type, but generally the two that are used the most are Gameciel and Gadarla.

Lava Golem can remove two monsters at once and Ra Sphere Mode can remove three monsters, but they use up your normal summon for the turn and are useless if the opponent ends on only one big boss monster and nothing else. Plus, Ra Sphere Mode is technically a tribute summon and not a special summon, so it can get around stuff like Barrier Statue or Vanity's Fiend. Santa Claws is another niche option that removes one monster, doesn't use up your normal summon, and isn't subject to the Kaijus' drawback that a player can only control one at a time (so you can use more than one of them in a single turn) but it summons itself in defense mode instead of attack mode and it gives the opponent a free draw if you don't remove it by the end of the turn.

If you're using a deck that doesn't really normal summon very much (like burn decks or Eldlich), then use Lava Golem or Sphere Mode. If you're using a deck that does need its normal summon to work, then use Kaijus. Only use Santa Claws if you have a reliable way to remove it from the field.

Lava Golem's controller (AKA the person whose field it's currently on) takes the damage. So if you summon it to the opponent's field by its normal method, they would take the damage. If you kill it and then decide to Monster Reborn it yourself to use it as a 3000 ATK beatstick, you would take the damage.

It's a potential future event that's been datamined in the game's data but not 100% confirmed yet.

So a recent update mentions that the current booster packs will no longer be available after early April. (The two permanent ones, not the secret packs)

Odds were gonna see new cards soon? Thinking of saving my gems.

Maybe not new cards but at least different mixes of secret pack cards in there.

I'm pretty sure the next update will bring DPE, who will just define the metagame for months by himself. Definitely good to save up gems if you care about the meta and things. Otherwise It's better to just pull and get the staples

DPE is pretty much a staple card for Sky Strikers. I hope he gets in soon

So why is DPE so good in Sky Strikers? I guess the gameplan is

Summon Verte - Summon DPE - Pop Verte and Opponent's card, swing if applicable, then next turn get one more pop off, end phase, summon Dasher to use as a beat-stick/link material?

Huh, but Lava Golem's text says 'Can't be normal summoned/set. Must be special summoned by tributing two opponent monsters'.

It seems pretty good, but compared to some of the other "big" monsters you can summon it I don't really understand why it's so important.

It allows Sky strikers to actually go first. You have Fusion Destiny to bring DPE out and he can keep popping stuff. Now the fun part is, you can set Artifact Scythe and during opponents SP, you can pop Artifact Scythe as well as DPE. So now your opponent can not special summon any monsters from the extra deck that turn. So Artifact Scythe being on the field will likely not matter much in many cases for SS spell cards since the opponent cant do much.

Duel 1 - L
Opponent put monsters that completely disable monster effects, banishing anything and everything, putting out a monster that has ATK of 300 x number banished cards (or was it 400?), and ended up in me losing because of my own stupidity after downing the other to 800 LP (they -4k LP because of Solemn Judgement).

Duel 2 - L
Eldlich.

Duel 3 - W
A Drytron player who, for some reason, surrendered moments after I put my monsters (I went 2nd), before synchro-ing them. I'm not sure how I should feel.

Duel 4 - L
A Blue-Eyes player who ended up defeating me because I put monster in defense position. In my defense, I don't know what Chaos MAX can do and the player drew that ritual card.

You can play in private rooms with rules to allow forbidden cards like that. Also for potential events in the future.

as well as 2 pendulum monsters which arent great and seem out of place

Well I was thinking more anime themed events but that seems way more fun! Would be nice of a company to poke fun at the forbidden list. Especially in a format like master duel where they can control the rewards and card pools.

That would be fun except I can't see any one investing heavily the URs to get the forbidden cards that will return to being unusable not long after

I finally managed to get 2 uni-zombies to upgrade my zombie world eldlitch deck. The free 1000 gems gave me 0 URs so I got the pity guarantee and next day I got this. First deck I go up against? Zombie world eldlitch mirror.

Their first turn was get an eldlitch in the grave, scarlet sanguine, and zombie world pass. I summon one uni-zombie to go for balerdroch and they instantly realize what's happened and give up.

I also pulled all the skull servant archetype except king of the skull servant but its an option for later at least.

The pendulum cards are meant to work with Shaman and Liger King probably. You can destroy a pendulum on monster zone with King Liger, put it on pend scale, ss an amazoness from grave, activate Shaman to return the pendulum to hand to ss her, search other things to play extend.

I think they might need a link monster or something of the sort though

I made it back to Gold1 on both of my accounts today, then spent a half hour or so surrendering until both of them were back down to Gold4. After the changes to Ranked that came with this season, I'm not dealing with Plat5 hell just for it to result in me getting less gems in the long run.

Made a U.A. deck because it's affordable and honestly it'd pretty damn fun even if it's not competitively viable because you really need to end your turn on at least 2 of the defensive ones and if you don't have an opening hand that makes that easily accomplished you're basically gonna die from the lack of any other negates.

Another great "stuck going first" play with this deck is to summon Player Manager on their turn, either with its own effect after using Libero Spiker or Midfielder or using Spiker to summon Manager directly from the deck. If you can pull off Manager's "negate the effects of all face-up monsters on the field except U.A. monsters until the end of this turn" effect at the right time or use its other effect to destroy a key card at the right time, it can cripple the opponent's combo and sometimes even cause a scoop. Perfect Ace and Blockbacker are useful negates to have, but I've won going first without them thanks to a well-timed Manager summon.

Oh my god I forgot all about that negate effect on Manager, I only have played against the solo bots while learning the deck but this is a game changer. <3

Yeah, it's great. One thing to keep in mind though: his effect doesn't kick in during a chain if you summon him in the middle of a chain, it starts a new chain after the current chain finishes. So sometimes you kind of have to summon him one step ahead of the opponent's move you want to stop to time it right. It takes some practice and experimentation to get used to it and figure out when to trigger it against which decks.

You can't get any lower than gold 5 from deranking. Heck, I don't think losses even require you to win additional games to rank up until gold 5.

As far as I know:

* You can't de-rank during the season at all if you're in Rookie/Bronze/Silver
* You can de-rank in Gold, but you'll never drop back down to Silver within that season
* You can de-rank in Platinum, but (new starting this season) you'll never drop back down to Gold within that season
* Once you reach Plat1 (the highest rank possible) you stay there until the end of the season
* At the end of the season, everyone is dropped down to the lowest rank of the previous tier (if you were in Plat1, you drop to Gold5, if you were in Gold2 you drop to Silver5, etc.) for the start of the next season

The climb from Silver 5 to Gold1 actually gives the same amount of gems as the climb from Gold5 to Plat1, so unless you can consistently reach Plat1 every single season (which is quite difficult) then it's better to just never go into Platinum and just stop at Gold1 each season. If you get into Platinum but aren't good enough to reach Plat1, then you have less fun because you're stuck in Plat5 hell for the rest of the season and you also get less gems during your climb next season. I chose to surrender my way back down to Gold4 as a safety measure, so I can get my wins for the daily challenges without risking accidentally winning the duel that would put me up into Platinum.

Rosemi playing YGO is pretty cool but her chat is like... really bad at YGO.

So, one thing I think I need to do is figure out a secondary win condition for my Yosenju deck, for when the Utopia OTK isn't an option. (Did you know that Double or Nothing is a Garnet? I didn't until I tried using Utopia Double's effect today!) I had considered trying something with the Tri-Brigade Link monsters to crawl up to Accesscode, but I'm not sure if it'd actually work...

You can just summon Utopia outright if you drew Double or Nothing. Of course it won't be nearly as much damage

Yeah, I've since learned my lesson there, but it took me two attempts to realize what the problem was. (The first time it happened, I had a Dimensional Fissure on board as well, so I thought that might be it.)

Reached gold by my first zero enemy LP win. But I think they bricked.

I also met a Mayakashi synchro user. So neat.

I've definitely seen some neat combos thanks to those YouTube recommended "master duel ___" channels the algorithm throws my way.

Back to plat 4 by defeating a Drytron player again. They took the Maxx C challenge and failed while my hand filled up and I ashed their Beta Mu Fafnir to weaken their board and just out negated their Ultimateness

Well I managed to make it back to platinum 1 this season. Even though I lost like 7 coin flips in my last 10 games. Today was nothing but pendulum decks. Not a fan of how long the turns can last but its better than drytron any day. Also have an 11 win streak somehow guess I have managed to pull maxx c more often.

YGO players reciting the monster effects and countering them should count as conversation.

Been loving my Thunder Dragons again. They are just powerful and consistent. Still Rogue but the deck is eating up gold for me.

Then again I have such inconsistent opponents in terms of decks. Some days its nothing but cut throat players but then today I play against the 60 card hero deck playing as many copies of each hero card they can.but no dark law. I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and played like they had a better deck while playing though.

Still like the guy that dark holed my colossus and Titan only for them to not die like they thought

And in Steam account I feel like making another synchro deck. What is, I'm not sure.

Synchros living rent free in my head, that my desire to make waifu deck pretty much got erased.
