Yeah this I agree with. The first episode might be my favorite Marvel show premiere but I'm slowly losing interest.

I know I said I wanted to see him jack up random goons after episode 2 instead of doing the flashes/fighting cgi dogs, but eh, maybe the way they handled the action in episode 1 was the best way to do it >_>

I also haven't necessarily been feeling Moon Knight so far. I don't hate it but I also can't say I'm super excited to watch the new episodes.

I agree with 1 > 2 > 3 but I haven't lost interest or anything, 3 just feels a bit disjointed.

3 felt like it tried to cram three episodes into one.

Was literally just watching the New Rockstars vid on it lol (speaking of, wew MT really getting pounded for his really silly time travel interpretation of Konshu "moving" the stars)

Nice to hear it was confirmed from crewmembers, although it still very much just feels like an easter egg that doesn't actually mean anything.

I tried googling it and am only seeing 10 minute YouTube videos and I'm not doing that

Finally, rewatched ep. 2 of moon knight with the kids, and my initial reaction to the cgi being bad might have been because I was really really high. On the second watch it seemed on par with everything else.

I don't want to come across as a super-complained, but man, the audio mixing for the dialogue is really rough on this show. Sometimes it's just nigh-indecipherable, at least in the 2nd and 3rd episodes.

Honestly thought the trailer was using My Way (Limp Bizkit) from the first couple of notes

Thor has tried to find out who he is, then found out who he is in 3 full ass movies and at least one Avengers movie.

I also didn't think the trailer was all that great. Jane Thor is cool though.

It's still going to be an awesome movie though, I'm sure.

Trailer was great at demonstrating the tone we've come to love about Thor. Who knows what the movie is actually about but it's a good bet that a lot of the movie does carry that tone.

Im excited for Thor 4. Ragnarok did a lot for him and with the Guardians in the trailer it has me more excited since theyre great too. Not sure how I feel about Lady Thor or whatever shes gonna be called, but well see.

Yeah that bit where he turns away and the dialogue with Star Lord indicates to me that they won't be around long. Could be reading into it too much though.

It sucks because Guardians 3 should have been first and Thor should have been in that, and I was really excited for it, but then the whole stupid James Gunn fiasco happened

So now continuity dictates that the Guardians have to be in this movie a bit, but they'll be gone soon enough I reckon

Can you even call it a bait and switch when they show the Guardians leaving Thor behind as Thor says in a voice over "My super hero days are over"? Seems like they're just telling us they aren't going to be in it a lot

Im not expecting them to be in it much, but they should still be great for what little they are in it at least. I am excited for Guardians 3 too along with the holiday special. Both still feel ages away though

yes the movies should have come out earlier

then they were delayed. thats what a delay is.

and obviously it has nothing to do with the pandemic anyway, but I dont think Shang Chi was ever supposed to be phase 1, it was just one of the things they were considering early on. I dont think a Phase 1 version of Shang-schi actually got anywhere near entering production.

I don't think it's the pandemic that hurt as much as coming down from the emotional high of the end of the Infinity Saga. It felt good to get a break after that but at the same time, Phase 4 just hasn't carried a lot of momentum so far.

Yea pretty much this. It was expected that the momentum would drop a bit but I think the pandemic just made it even harder. I'd imagine that things will pick up though, No Way Home was hype and Multiverse of Madness is looking pretty good too.

Phase 4 has been fine too. It just hasnt really started getting into things too much yet because most of it was pretty contained stuff. Might as well say Spider-Man NWH was the real start of it and most of the stuff coming after is looking pretty hype

There have been three movies so far. Two were released while the pandemic was still raging and still did ok in a vacuum and were two of the highest grossing movies to release during the pandemic. The third released while the pandemic was on the decline but still definitely not over, and is now a top 10 highest grossing movie of all time, WITHOUT CHINA. By all accounts the hype for the next two entries is SERIOUS. But yes, the MCUs momentum is dead

Actually four (Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Eternals, Spider-Man).

But yeah MCU is doin' fine.

Spider-Man was great enough to carry the rest tbh-- thats not to say I disliked Shang Chi but if you are saying did it feel very hype well no not really. It was enjoyable though.

(haven't actually seen Eternals)

The big problem is phase 4 has a lot of episodic series which to me kinda feel by definition lower impact. Not a bad thing but it dilutes the content-- granted like Wandavision at least could have basically been a movie if you strung all the episodes together

Think Multiverse of Madness it'll keep the momentum of Spider-Man picking up though-- we'll actually get to see the results of TV show integration into the movies there so it should be interesting..

I heard a rumour that Gor might be making his debut in Moon Knight, which is why he is absent from the teaser for Thor. If that happens it would be hype.

To be fair that had more to do with coming off the (relative?) high of Phase 3.

The pandemic induced delays were actually REALLY GOOD because it Endgame was literally the capstone of a 11 year 20+ movie saga with Far From Home as a denoument, and then there was a nice break before trickling in content to start up the next phase of content

Couldn't have been planned better, except for the unfortunate GOTG drama

I mean they're (Phase 4 MCU) doing fine financially. Can't say I've really been impressed with the films though MoM seems to be the one to change that. My personal hype has died down, but I'm not claiming that's how the general populace seems to feel. Hawkeye is, in my opinion, the best Phase 4 project with What If and Loki close behind.

Finally watched No Way Home. It was fine. I didn't really care for the Raimi spider-mans, so I didn't get the bonus nostalgia kick a lot of people got from it. Definitely better than Far From Home, not as good as Homecoming. My biggest issue was probably the characterization of Dr. Strange. They made him seem incompetent for laughs I guess.

I disagree about the incompetent thing. I saw it as him just severely underestimating Peter Parker because Peter always seems fairly naive.
