I think it fits well if there is no BP or BG that is claimed.

Every Town power role except for Cop had potential to backfire on Town. Watcher can reveal Town power. Bus Driver can hit Town. Vig DID hit Town. Roleblocker can hit Town.

Backup fits in in the sense that you have to be thoughtful with your use of it, especially in a 1-shot situation.

Also big thing I will add to this is would love feedback on other scum actions. My next game is bringing this system back for non king maker I think. Next game I will actually plan out. This was me being sad and wanting to host lol

Also, Red and SBell totally both CFWR at beginning of game, but I think the reactions were enough to set me up for failure.

Took notes on first set of pages, and SBell didn't rate, but I specifically remembered him being super obvScum in one of the games I had read the first page of recently, so that was an honest statement.

And what I said about Red was to the best of my recollection about Red's play.

To be fair, it was calling me town vanilla that stuck out to me more than the misrepresentation of my prior game. There was just less to talk about in that regards. Outing someone as vanilla just feels really antitown.

I think I agree that Scum was a little too passive once you were up. None of you ever looked great, but Lopen absolutely eviscerating Plum or even Han a bit earlier could have gone a long way. Once the claims happened it was basically down to MZero to close it out, and without swinging the Scare mislynch before, that was always an uphill battle.

Regardless, playing that from within, it must have been nerve-wracking and much more uncertain for all the kings. It's hard to emphasise enough how solid they were given their lack of info in terms of votals, and how terrifying Lopen roleplaying a supervillain is.
I will endeavour to townclear SBell as soon as possible in every game, from now on. Before and after his confirm was night and day.

I don't know if we have other frogs here. I played some Mafia a decade ago and haven't paid much attention since. But your pineapple shenanigans two games ago, and this interesting Chris setup, have set the stage for me to maybe be interested again one day.

The system I had in mind was something more like this

Mafia puppet (no abilities, +1 passive point generation while alive)
Mafia puppet (no abilities, +1 passive point generation while alive)
Mafia Godfather
Mafia Random Rolecop/Roleblocker (choose one each night)

Then these abilities purchaseable

Pineapple - 0 points
Message - 1 point
Random watch - 1 point
Doctor - 1 point
Random track - 2 points
Ninja - 2 points
Roleblock - 2 points
Rolecop - 2 points
Gladiator (once per game) - 4 points
Godfather - 4 points
Strongman - 6 points
Poison (once per game) - 7 points
Janitor (once per game) - 7 points
Framer (once per game) - 10 points
Day vig (once per game) - 13 points
Detective (once per game) - 13 points
Night phase skip - 13 points

Only two once per game abilities may be purchased in total. All abilities cost 1 more point if not used by a puppet.

I have no idea on balancing of points I'm just sorta naming arbitrary numbers to give an idea of relative value. Core idea is to sorta hybridize the puppet idea to make some basic function of a scum team available but giving them options on what to do with their other roles.

Agreed, I think you also underestimated (and simultaneously overestimated) everyone else still alive. Overestimated their ability to read you, and underestimated their ability to read Plum. Like we saw with Scare, making a terrible lynch choice wasn't gonna get you killed by itself.

as a town player with no extra information i didn't think either the crescent or tidus lynch were bad. i felt like they were totally understandable within the context of what had happened.

and on day 4? 5? i was in favor of lynching lopen just to stop him from polluting the game with insane theories regardless of his alignment

I concur with this. I actually do think I would have lynched Crescent as a town player too (she rage quit the day before I was able to expand my reign beyond silliness which would have happened as either alignment) as I think she would've been distracting left alive and the scum case was valid.

I think I would have just leaned a little less hard into her probability of scum as town.

Scare you legit did make me feel better.

I really did want to have a stupid elaborate thing and people weren't cooperating because they were arrogant. I think it being you in particular helped lot because I misread you as one of the aforementioned arrogant people, and you did legit inspire me to hold Crescent hostage.

I think the theatre was slightly overplaying how upset I was, and faking caring much about whether Crescent came back.

I'd like to think the only time I was arrogant was when I was selected for Champs, and even then it was more just being proud to represent us and wanting to win,. But maybe people think otherwise!

That was a fun game to watch as an outsider. I was reading through diligently and swayed from 'This is horrible town play or scum is being exceptional' to 'What on earth are scum doing, they are imploding'.

I could not believe that Lopen lasted as long as he did after Day 1 but given I haven't played in years and only read topics periodically it could have just been an outsider perspective. The whole Han thing caught me out as I wasn't really suspect of him prior to him backing himself into a corner. I was leaning Mzero on the last one but not with enough conviction I couldn't have been talked out of it so good job town there.

To be fair I kinda soured on your Kingship because of the Crescent post limit joke..

Also I know you were told not to meta but the '4 hour gladiate' thing was an instant lynch for me. Restricting something to first 4 hours of the day (unless I misread / misremembered the claim) seems anti-town to begin with but also just not something a host would do given timezones and that not everyone is around for day start.

Don't remember if it had happened yet but also day starts weren't consistent times which would be another reason for a first X hours of the day thing to just not possibly be a thing

I guess I should clarify, not a town role since scum would obviously have longer to prepare.

I mean I'm not sure it should be a role at all but I'm certainly not going to argue with Chris who is 1000x more experienced and knowledgeable than me on it.
