That was my first ever anime. It holds up surprisingly well for being 30 years old.

I have the whole relevant franchise on bluray and DVD (Muyo 1 and 2, Universe, Tokyo) and I whip them out fairly regularly. Tokyo is just OK but it sure is amazing how dogshit everything after that is.

Tokyo could have been something, but the animation change and weird romance storyline/weak mastermind villain never grabbed me. The 1st and 3rd movies were ok-ish. Everything else seemed like crap.

Muyo and Universe was required viewing though.

I realized I didn't have the movie so I looked up buying the collection.

....Dunno if I can justify $130. Should have bought them at $40 retail when I had the chance.

People who pay for hentai? I'm also baffled that such people exist, but Rightstuf is/was the largest retailer willing to sell hentai.

I always thought people looking to buy that from a big online retailer just went to Jlist.

Im loving everything were learning about Buggys guild. Putting bounties on marines is so cool.

Carrot becoming the leader of Zou feels so weird. Like, she doesnt seem very qualified for that? Shes never really done any leading at all. I guess she needed a reason not to join the crew since Yamato is. Im not particularly sad to see Carrot go, its just a weird way to end it.

yeah carrot getting the spot over the established commanders of the day and night forces makes no sense to me. Also I don't feel like we have seen any real leadership qualities from her.

Watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica - didn't care for it, just apathy ruling the day there. Glad to be one and done it. One good thing it had going for it was its music, for days after I was still humming various songs from the show. Totally out of mind now though.

On much happier news, I'm 3 episodes into A Place Further Than the Universe and I am 100% digging it so far!!

I also wasn't a huge fan of Madoka, but I liked the movie Rebellion a lot more than the show so maybe watch that if you haven't

I can't agree with you about Madoka, but if you don't like depressing stuff then that's totally understandable.

A Place Further is an all time anime classic, one of the decade's best. Absolutely travesty that's its basically ceased to exist in the public eyes since airing. Not even a hint of a western release.

That's just how modern anime fandom treats every show. Nobody cares about an anime unless it's currently airing or has a sequel coming out soon.

There's like 20 threads of people doom and glooming about how many people are going to be up in arms about how Chainsaw Man is "problematic" and how they're dreading the discourse, but nobody actually saying that to begin with.

People just need controversy in their lives, huh?

I think it's people still wanting to act like Chainsaw Man is some incredible secret only know by the bigtime fans and conveniently forget this thing is a Jump series that had a cameo in HeroAca.

Dude were talking about a cast of exclusively S+ tiers here, there's literally no misses. I have to make a call. If we're talking the Big 4 girls of the series they are better than literally every other girl in every other active manga on the market.

I had wanted to but I was just so done with the main show when it finished that I kind of skimmed the 3rd movie and then I read the plot summary online instead. Maybe I'll give it a proper watch in the distant future (whenever I do a proper rewatching of Haruhi, another much-hyped show that I couldn't stand!!)

Well, I think "apathy ruling the day" is not really what the thematic content of Madoka is going for. Not that I expect that will or should change your opinion on a show you didn't like to begin with, but I figured I would mention it.

Because often times, the seiyuu industry deals with more than just voicing a character.

Often times theyll appear on variety-like radio shows and need to look good on camera.

Then youll see things like them having a photobook.

So if I dropped Bleach during the Fullbringer arc, will I need to catch back up to a certain point in the manga for this?

I have no intention of completing Fullbringer, but if there's anything in between.

but it's so funny right at the end when Ginjo and Tsukashima are like "lol our plan was so good we won" and then all the real soul reapers show up and stunt on them in like 2 episodes and the arc just ends

Well, 3 of the Fullbringers appearing in the Spirit World may spoil what happened to them during the Lost Agent arc, but I don't think it would have been hard to guess that happening to them anyways.
