So uh. That episode was not good.

Aisha's storyline wasn't deep enough to devote that much time to it. In fact, it was incredibly cliched. I feel like it needed a bit more explanation as to why she abandoned her quest to go home too. One dude shares some flatbread and she falls in love?

I didn't like the time travel thing and I usually love time loops like that. There's just no real explanation for why it happened. I feel like they included it just so they could show the Partition instead of just talking about it, but they didn't really explore it either. I feel like the family talking about it at dinner a few episodes ago and her grandmother talking about it last episode was far more effective than what they showed here.

The Djinn are garbage. Might actually be worse than the Flag Smashers. She abandoned Kamran like a day ago, but now she suddenly changes the direction of her entire life because Kamala mentions his name once? They nearly murdered a church full of people to get at that bangle, now she's sacrificing herself to close the portal home? What even happened to the rest of them?

Damage Control should have been the only villain and the cast should have never left Jersey. I think all of the D+ shows (save Hawkeye) have a problem with scope. They get too big for their britches and that's 100% what happened here.

I thought episode 5 was just OK. I definitely agree with the sentiment that a lot more needed to be explained.

Maybe Marvel would benefit from doing more than 6 episodes per show to give time to fully flesh stuff out.

I agree with this. I think they do 6 because the average length of a story line (not counting big epic events) is around 6 issues in the comics

But I think it's dumb to limit themselves. At least do 10 to 12 like some cable networks like showtime do it

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed how this turned out. I really liked the whole Jersey City stuff. Stuff like the father, Bruno, Nakia, and her brother help imo.

Going to Karachi for some 5 minute time travel plot felt like a waste tbh. Even the stuff with Aisha was alright and had some good emotional beats, but otherwise just out of place in a 6 episode series.

Damn, the main story ended. I'm intrigued for the finale.

Yeah the last two episodes have felt really off. The flashback stuff was okay but could have been shorter and it feels like the only purpose was to have the short time travel part which... Eh.

Aisha was a babe though

The djinn have been pretty bad in general

Except she's still pretty sure she can survive and is going to give it a try until Kamala talks about her son.

I've liked the show but this and the last episode were pretty meh. Things feel like they're moving too quickly in order to cram an overambitious plot into 6 episodes.

Is it funny that I think the earlier Disney+ shows were better? Because it feels like a lot of them had better pacing and knew what to do with their limited run time.

They are the only branch of SHIELD that survived its fall. It is entirely probable that some splinter of HYDRA survived, and has either embedded itself there or completely taken it over. I think they are going to tie in to Valentina's Dark Avengers.

Speaking of Agents of SHIELD, it was funny that they did a shitty version of the terrigenesis effect to kill the djinn. They have to be deliberately fucking with us now, right?

I think these Marvel shows just for whatever reason don't want to take advantage of the TV show format.

Even with 6 episodes there's no reason to be cramming these shows in the way that they do. Instead it's this weird cross between a movie and TV series that doesn't have the strength of either.

People shit on The Flash these days but that first season managed to both set up a compelling villain alongside general superhero adventures that flesh out why The Flash becomes a hero. These D+ shows set up the hero, immediately throw them in the deep end and then it's over.

I feel like part of the problem is they're rushing to set stuff up for movies instead of planning a season 2 in a year.

Black Bolt (the same actor played Black Bolt in the short-lived Inhumans series, which did tie in to Agents of Shield) was in the new Strange movie...

So, the Djinn's plot just came and went, and didn't matter one bit. I have to assume there's still going to be a problem come from that, otherwise that entire plot was just a massive waste. lol
Idk, maybe Kamran will think his mom made it home and try to open it again. Maybe that really was Terragenisis that got the Djinn and it'll hit Kamala too.

Yeah, that episode was definitely an episode. I guess I liked the flashback stuff but it felt like it also didn't really matter at all.

Also yeah that was definitely supposed to look like terrigen mist. Marvel trolling the fuck out of us now lol.

Goddamn this episode was terrible

Shame this show ended up being so awful despite the strong first episode

They wanted to make a slice of life kinda show. Personally I started losing interest once it became more Marvel-esque with episode 4.

You responded to "goes against Endgame" with that it works differently. Only the method is different. It doesn't result in any causal issues just like the time travel in Endgame didn't.

She didn't create an alternate timeline, she went back in her own. That's not how it works in Endgame.

They didn't create or enter either. There were no alternate timelines before Loki happened. It would have split the timeline but Cap returned everything, avoiding that.

It's explained in that movie. Like the very fact that Loki escapes custody and isn't retrieved would alter the entire MCU timeline. As would Steve Rogers living in the 60s (or whenever it was).

You lit-er-all-y just said that Loki's timeline was erased, indicating he was in a different timeline. If the Avengers traveled back into their own timeline, that means the TVA destroyed the MCU.

No, it's clearly explained in Loki how and when branches are created and they are reversed back to the point the change occured.

If Kamala veered off path, it would put her in the same situation. There is nothing different about either time travel other than method. If you have an actual scene saying otherwise, I'm open to it. Otherwise, you just keep repeating yourself.

Everything after the change is destroyed and you're back to the change, so same thing.

And the clip is saying what I'm saying. "What happened, happened". What Kamala did, always happened. She can't change it. If she did, it would create a branch.

I don't know what else I can tell you to convince you, but you're the only one on the internet that doesn't think Endgame works with branching timeline.

Endgame and Loki are pretty clear about all this and I'm going by that, plus there's hundreds of articles and posts saying what I'm saying and actually very little of what you're saying. So idk what to tell you.
