I really did want to get into the mindset of what its like to be a non-binary person, and I think after watching a few youtube videos I have a better understanding of it.

I just wish I had a better support system on a forum Ive frequented for many years because I really do mean well. I didnt mean to offend anyone, I didnt mean to come across as calling non-binary people liars, even though the way I worded the topic may have made my intentions look insincere. But this is me. I dont shitpost about issues like this. But I take responsibility for the way I worded my OP.

Im not perfect and rereading my OP in the topic made me want to close it down and start out fresh. Again Im sorry for coming across a certain way.

Glad you took the initiative in expanding your horizons and clearing things up like this. Hope it helps.

Also, personally I wouldn't get too worked up about Nerevar and gunplagirl. One keeps spreadsheets on everyone and one calls everyone who doesnt share the exact same perspectives a transphobe.

It's just a common term for a natural phenomenon that's literally been a part of human history since the literal beginning of human history, spanning the entire globe.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_gender

Seriously people, it's something older than fucking Judaism.

While found in a number of non-Western cultures, concepts of "third", "fourth", and "some" gender roles are still somewhat new to mainstream western culture and conceptual thought.[11]

And? Doesn't change the fact that the concept is older than Jesus, and is very widespread where said Jesus didn't wipe out older cultures.

"While mainstream western scholarsnotably anthropologists who have tried to write about the South Asian hijras or the Native American "gender variant" and two-spirit peoplehave often sought to understand the term "third gender" solely in the language of the modern LGBT community, other scholarsespecially Indigenous scholarsstress that mainstream scholars' lack of cultural understanding and context has led to widespread misrepresentation of third gender people, as well as misrepresentations of the cultures in question, including whether or not this concept actually applies to these cultures at all.[12][13][14][15]"

I think to equivocate this category to LGBTQ+ is a big mistake. It's not the same thing at all. But that is just my intuition I guess.

TC, dont ask LGBT questions here.

Just dont. These guys, for the most part, are jaded as hell and will assume everyone is in bad faith 100% of the time. Theyll try to explain things in context only they understand and then get annoyed it doesnt translate well.

Then, after 5-6 different posters accuse you of being a liar or concern trolling, they then get the righteous opportunity to claim superiority when you inevitably pushback on the character assassination.

Doesnt matter how much egg shell walking you do. How much personal anecdotes you bring up to explain where youre coming from.

It also doesnt matter if theres no logical goal for your question being in bad faith.

You will not get an answer.

There are a handful of posters who would, but everyone else is too jaded from previous online encounters imo. So dont blame them.

except Gunpla and shockthemonkey they are a little extreme lol.

I recommend Reddit for these questions tho. Your post will be downvoted, but youll still have plenty of helpful answers.

Basically this. Although I dont know if its because theyre jaded, seems more like theres a category of posters that has a natural predisposition to pounce and shit on people and topics of sensitive nature with possibly even an inkling of transphobia is the perfect justification to go balls out character assassinate someone since they can attack from a place of righteousness.

Why would someone need to ask quesitons abou stuff like this? I was raised Catholic and conservative and still just learned things by myself.

I have zero sympathy for people making up issues to be confused about. This isn't rocket science. People seem to lose the ability to operate if they are asked to or reminded of things they do unconsciously. "You are now manually breathing."

No one cares when someone uses singular they in other instances or respects other people's personal lives, but say "LGBT" when doing it and it becomes a political debate and people need a 30 year study and 50 papers to be convinced that something deserves to be respected.
