The editing this season was bad.

If Gabler wins, it's whatever.
If Owen wins, it's baffling.
If Cassidy wins, it's icky, given how they just shoved her to the side.

Yeah, this is a bottom 10 season now. Bland characters and a disappointing ending. Hopefully we get a better cast next season.

It was already a bottom 10 season. It's Ghost Island without a solid storyline.

It's Ghost Island, except Dom and Wendell went before FTC so we have a Final 3 of Laurel, Angela, and Sebastian.

We were robbed of the Cody/Jesse finals bromance akin to Dom/Wendell

Some justice in Jesse's flashy move to get Cody out being turned back around on him, if they had remained loyal to one another they're probably in the finals? We don't know if Cody would've pulled something at some point though, I guess, but damn... a real limp finish

A Gabler perfect game is the ending this season deserves

Yeah this is a bottom 5 season for me, no matter who wins. Gabler winning would elevate it a spot or two, but Owen would be so baffling, and Cassidy would just be another crappily edited female winner.

Such a soulless edit. Nothing memorable aside from Jesse's one-two punch of the Cody vote and Jeanine's idol stunt. Noelle was the only person I actually legit liked. "Ghost Island with even less story and a worse ending" is a good description.

Honestly, my favorite character this season was Jeanine...which is saying a lot, given how early she was booted.

Gabler is answering questions really well and Cass isn't keeping up. PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN

Cassidy thought "I got this" and pretty much declared it at FTC, only for the jury to tear her apart and for her to subsequently panic. She succumbed to pressure easily as Gabler started nailing things. "I downplayed my threat level so you guys wouldn't vote me out" is GREAT. He owned his game and showed himself to be the real fox.

Owen... lol. "Here are the negatives of my game" "Here's a non-answer to the question" "Oh I made too many mistakes to say which was my biggest" - not once did he argue why he should win.

I think Gabler might actually have this.

Gabler had a great FTC, but holy shit his edit was bland after the Elie boot.

Ah, that makes sense. That and (CvC1 spoilers) Sharn would've choked at FTC regardless, since she's known for doing that despite being a barrister. Doesn't matter if she's against Shane or Grubby, she chokes the vote away. Shane to Gabler makes sense in some ways.

The challenge during the medical emergency was the same challenge as the day 1 challenge in this season. That may be the first boot.

this is genuinely the most shocked i've been in at least 10+ seasons watching survivor. i don't know whether that's a good or bad thing.

i will say, i am pleased the cassidy truthers were foiled, mostly because it would have pissed me off if they edited yet another female winner like crap. but now i'm just left wondering what the hell happened.

also owen didn't do anything wrong - imho, he just needed to win f4 immunity and put himself into and winning fire to make the win happen. he was drawing dead at the final tc because he just hadn't been in the know enough. but good for him to even get there - he seemed more than screwed at quite a few points.

Karla's stock for me absolutely nose dived in these past 2-3 episodes. No doubt she poisoned the Jury against Cass in pure butthurt.

Karla in these past few episodes solidified her spot as my second favorite. If you go out on Survivor, you bust your ass trying to win challenges, you befriend everyone and are such a massive threat that they're all gunning for you by the final five, then yeah, I'm not gonna begrudge her pulling a Michael Bruner to try and stay in the game, and I'm DEFINITELY not gonna begrudge her feeling bitter about how she dragged Cassidy through the game as her plus one, and then Cassidy outlasts her by going along with the majority.

Cassidy/Owen/Gabler were all followers at the whims of stronger players throughout the games, but then the stronger players all turned on each other and it was easy to realize the trio could only win against each other, so Jesse got got too.

Best move for Jesse was to team with Karla at F5 and take out Cassidy. Too bad Karla didn't realize that making fire against Jesse was her best move, too (Underwood Gambit or otherwise). Jesse thus had to go along with the three goats.

Honestly, for as good of a strategist as he was, Jesse got himself into a REALLY tough spot. He NEEDED Cody out, because Cody would get all the credit for their moves if they sat in the finals together. BUT, if Cody made F5, then Cody plays an idol and is guaranteed a spot in the final 4, and then Cody is a jungleboy, so he'd be good at making fire (if he didn't win immunity, which could've easily happened). So Jesse NEEDED to take Cody out, but he couldn't do it earlier than six without putting a massive target on his back.

The problem is that, I'd say, Jesse got himself into a final 7 where he was probably the third biggest threat (although his game was very low-key, so who knows if the jury would've seen or respected it), but he had four potential jury goats there. He needed to eliminate at LEAST two of them before the final 5, but he couldn't due to needing Cody out at 6. Where he needed to make a change is he needed to boot one of the Sami/Cass/Owen/Gabler group at 8, and then another at 7, leaving himself/Cody/Karla/Noelle/Owen/Gabler (I'm assuming Sami goes at 8 because he was already the back-up target, and Cassidy goes at 7 to weaken Karla's potential power). THEN you blindside Cody, and THEN you have Noelle and Karla BOTH as big threats with you at the final 5.

Jesse was probably better off not playing any idols at 6, and then let Karla play hers at 5 and then play his on himself and Gabler. That keeps Karla around for 4, and the F4 challenge was one that I'm not sure she'd be good at with her injury (though she's surprised me with her other performances, so maybe she'd find a way). Then he'd just need to beat Karla at fire to win (or he might even win the immunity challenge, since I think he was in second by the end.)
