I'm amazed they got to a final judgment this quickly.

Looks like this was granted as a summary judgment, meaning, without even hearing evidence at a trial. In other words, the judge concluded that a trial is unnecessary because there are no facts in dispute and the debt relief was illegal as a matter of law.

It's wild to see a major facet of online society crumple in weeks because of one billionaire throwing a temper tantrum. Twitter is probably more harmful than helpful, but being reminded of how much influence the very top percent have is jarring. Like, there are some people whose careers were based around twitter, and I don't think it was unreasonable for them to feel a sense of security about it.

I definitely wouldnt assume that. Its hard to know whatll happen because Bidens loan forgiveness likely was illegal, but at the same time its hard for any particular entity to establish standing.

My brother is a public employee and is thus eligible for complete (and tax-free) student loan forgiveness after ten years of employment. All of this paused loan time still counts toward those ten years for public employees. A pause extension is literally better than partial debt relief for most people in that camp. >_>

Because Dems are ALWAYS in dissaray, always arguing with eachother, but as such are built to withstand it and fight through it.
