Its weird how vulnerable you start to feel when youre pregnant. Everything just seems a bit more dangerous and menacing.

Just thinking about carrying an infant in my arms makes me horribly wary of everything, although actually carrying one seems to tell my body to be less clumsy. Has that happened with you?

I feel overly and instinctually protective of the baby inside me. @Cleo_II knows what Im talking about. Its almost a compulsion to protect the baby.

Seems stressful as heck, but also, it's good that those instincts are working.

Also interested to know when/if nesting instinct kicks in. There's not yet documented proof of it being a thing in humans.

When you are in bed waiting to give birth, you will hate Lina for "turning you into a breeding woman", you will hate your childhood friend for having fertile sperms and you will hate yourself for "being tricked into it".
But once the little gem is born and you are holding it in your arms, all that will be forgotten and everything was worth it.
It is easier said than done, but worrying about things you cant control is useless and will only cause stress.
You and Lina will be wonderful parents that will love your little gem.
Of you cant produce milk, then there is replacement milk.
It doesnt matter if you are feminine enough or not, all that matter is that you love the little gem and give it love. You might even have to take a break in rediscovering your feminine side, which might be frustrating, but seeing the little gem will make you know how to handle it.

Try not to worry so much about things like milk or being feminine enough. Those things wont matter to your child. I didnt breastfeed and my daughter is thriving. The medical benefits of breastfeeding are not that much better and are overblown. My daughter has only really been sick once and thats when she went to daycare. Shes healthy and happy and thats all that matters. No one goes around as adults saying they were breastfed or formula fed. No one cares if we were potty trained at 2 or 3. When we said our first words, etc. Parents put so much unnecessary pressure on themselves.

As for needing to be feminine, what does that really mean?

I'll tell you one thing -

You learn a lot about yourself when you're stuck in a bathroom, pregnant, and have no idea how to go pee because you don't even know how you got your clothes on, let alone take them off.

Sounds like a great decision for you. Once I embraced formula feeding I was so much happier for it. Plus babies sleep longer when formula fed so we got more sleep. I didnt have to worry about pumping anymore or having to wake up several times. Lina will be able to bottle feed as well so it wont all be you. Very easy to do in public without feeling embarrassed or trying to find a private spot. I have several friends who whip out their boobs everywhere and I respect them tremendously for it but I was never comfortable doing that.

That's the part I just can't do. I'm already timid going out in public as a new gender, so that's just a step too far for me. I'm going with formula / bottle feeding and that's that.

Having a baby gnawing at your nip every few hours sounds completely miserable, to be honest. And I cant imagine pumping is any fun either.

It should feel kinda fucked up but actually it feels amazing. I am so happy to have a child with him. He's my only friend for 30+ years. I love that I can share this with him

Had a really good day until 30 minutes ago, when I had a panic attack and mental breakdown. Sitting in a dark room right now trying to get my bearings straight. I miss mental stability.

EDIT: So I might as well write a short story. A long long long time ago there was a squirrel who could travel in time, but one day it got arrested by the Time Police and sent to Time Jail, which locks you up from 1s after the Big Bang to the point in which you were arrested. Well, by that point the entire time jail was filled with versions of this squirrel in various stages of his timeline. Eventually there was a riot and all the versions of the squirrel started fighting each other and then escaped the jail.
