I have seen 3 of those movies and aware of another 2.

But what is "woke" about that list? Pretentious is a better word.

The nyt is currently on strike. You can tell someone who isnt striking is like "yes! Muahahahaha!"

The New York Times is a left leaning outlet, and Fox is triggered because apparently "Films we haven't heard of from a liberal paper" equals "being woke"

I dunno about "woke left" but if someone unironcally put a movie that was nothing but a black screen for an hour on a top 10 movies list I'd probably never listen to their opinion on movies ever again <_<

Yeah, I get it. Just makes Fox look dumb, but that's nothing new.

But the NYT movie lists have always been overly pretentious stuff that most don't see. I like all types of movies and will see close to 100 movies released in 2022, but I even think the NYT is ridiculous. About movies that is, I agree with their politics.

Yes, they are pretentious compared to almost all other top ten lists out there.

I've only heard about two of those - Nope & Decision to Leave (latest movie from the director of Oldboy).

i will say though we need more movies about men being men like gladiator and braveheart and rocky

all we get now is some liam neeson paperback thriller in january and then a gerard butler meathead movie in february before we fall into the boring CGI franchise movies for the rest of the year
