To answer what came up at the end of the last topic:

Ancient Warriors.

Probably not a good idea. AW is a hard going 2nd deck, Eldlich is primarily a going 1st deck, plus don't AW have some kind of effect that locks them into only using AW monster effects? The only "pair Eldlich as a going 1st alternative along with a going 2nd strategy" idea that actually works well is with Numerons, because their effects don't actually conflict with each other and Numerons have options going 1st like UDF or Megaclops.

Or Dragonmaid, for memes.

I actually have this deck and it's really fun. It's not really better than a normal pure Dragonmaid deck (and probably weaker than Dragon Link using Dragonmaids as a base) but it's a fun alternative way to play Dragonmaids and I like the Laundry/Eldlich pairing that fans have memed into existence.

Cards that say "make your opponent" do something dodge unaffected monsters because the card is affecting the player, not the monster itself.

It's like if you have an indestructible puppet that has a self-destruct button with a thumb print reader and someone threatens to stab you if you don't press it. They're threatening you, not the puppet.

Lu Feng's non-target pop locks you into AW monster only, yes (and the only one to do so), but only if you really need it, imho. There are some situation where you don't really want to do it or not needing it so I can see where this AW-Eldlich coming from.

That, and slightly better going 1st.

The "targeting the player" effects are more common than you'd think. Usually if they mention the opponent choosing something, it's targeting them, not the board. I don't believe there is a card that can resist that level of removal

Tempted to say "fuck the last 100 gems" and just spam Exosisters for the rest of the event. They're a Max Level-capable deck but in my experience everyone draws the out when I'm going first and I never draw Shifter unless my opponent is playing Floow lol. Sorta took the wind out of my sails once I got to the higher levels.

I'm about 4 wins away from the Duelist cup cap. I've found the Spright mirrors. It's not too bad tbh I'm running pure with the Baronne thing mentioned earlier and I actually snuck in a win with Kurikara Divincarnate.

A Dark Magician user flipped a Gozen Match and it instantly kills my AW deck, then use a Secret Village.

Honestly she's extremely underwhelming. You have to force your opponent to use several of their monster effects for her to make any impact. This essentially wastes your resources because tbh once an effect is done the monster is no longer a threat.

She's completely dead going 1st. The only time I can see her useful is against a deck where monsters effects activate in the standby phase for maintenance. Tear format will unf not be her time to shine.

I got Maxx C'd by a Lv. 4 vomit user.

This dude, in one go by their turn, vomitted rebellious Ecclesia, ZS Armed Sage, Astraltopia, a Lv. 4 that ss if all monsters you control are Lv. 4, and the last one was religious Ecclesia. 5 Lv. 4s one after another.

Dude used religious Ecclesia's effect (haha button yellow press brr).

Dude locked themselves off their EX deck.

Well Vamps used to be pretty damn good despite Fraulein as the only good card. Not sure how they fare now, but Fraulein is still the plan by which they live and die, with some extra. The Familiar and the Bat are basically full combo, IIRC.

I keep losing to dumber decks. I guess I'm more ready for Runick Sprights and somehow seeing them less than ever. Still got to DL 17 despite doing like 3 duels per day, so it's not so bad.

One time I got 4 hand trapped and the opponent also had the 1 card opener in hand. Makes no sense how people draw that good

Just logged in half-heartedly to do my dailies only to realize I was one game from ranking up to 19. Went first and opened a cracked hand, opponent didn't draw the out, I got the last hundred gems. Feels good mang.

Don't care about level 20 or stage 2 so I'm just gonna spam Lesbians4Jesus just to grind out the new event missions <_<

Lol those rogue and casual decks do be sneaking into these things and stealing wins. I respect the dedication. Though anecdotally Live Twins Spright has been the variant I ran into the most.

To be fair, I'm sure you can choose cards on your field as Avramax's target when he's tributed to GY for Gameciel, right?

My opponent can just choose my Gameciel to be spun to the deck, then IIRC I would barely have any followup because AW Guan Yu needs to have monster on the opposing field (while I have none) and AW Lu Feng needs me to have the highest ATK AW.

They scooped too fast.

Made an Altergeist deck on a whim. It really does not feel like it keeps up sadly. Feels too slow to do well vs Spright and thats 3/4ths my games rip

1) It doesn't use the extra deck at all, so you can run Pot Of Extravagance without worry.
2) It usually doesn't run any floodgates, which is rare for a "no extra deck" deck, so it's (IMO) more fun to play than something that relies heavily on floodgates like Umi Control, pure Eldlich, pure Runick, etc.
3) Aside from the aforementioned Pot Of Extravagance, the deck is basically never ever touched at all by event banlists, so you can play them at full power in any event (aside from the more competitive Duelist Cup events) while many other decks are gimped by the event banlist.
4) U.A. Turnover Tactics is an absolutely busted removal spell.
5) It's really cheap to build, only requiring like 3 non-staple UR's (2-3 Player Manager and maybe 1 Playmaker).
6) It's a deck filled with badass futuristic sportsball gigachads.

U.A. was my go-to event grinding deck for a while, but eventually I found that Kozmo did most of the same things but better while also being almost as cool aesthetically, so I haven't played with my U.A. deck in a while.

The funniest thing is it turned out they had another Maxx C in hand and didn't shuffle the Ash I had lol. Heck, even shuffling one of the only two Exosister names I had would've been decent, though I lucked out anyway and drew Prosperity for turn. <___<

Yeah...I usually stay in the game until my opponent has secured the win on board, but after that point I just dont have the patience to sit there and watch someone else play when I know I dont have a chance at a comeback. >_>

I surrendered pretty often in DC but I kind of surprised myself that I scored about 60 duels 'finished'.

Yeah I had a bit of trouble against Exosisters recently. I have a Grass deck so if they play their cards right, it nullifies my Grass resolving. Ngl Grass has been kinda shit for me. I'm genuinely considering taking them out for 3 Necroface

I honestly see grass getting banned soon when tearlaments come out, so maybe it'd be good to get used to not using it. Are you playing a mill deck?

Also side note: I finally got to level 20 :D I honestly didn't think I could.
