That doesnt mean that the parents didnt try to calm their baby down. We just know that the dude made a scene.

Flights are already uncomfortable as it is and a crying baby doesn't help that.

I'm sure this situation sucked for everyone involved so there's no easy solution.

I wont understand this stance ever. Babies should be the burden of the parents. Solely. It's selfish to put that shit on everyone surrounding them. ESPECIALLY in a crowed location like a flight on a plane.

Oh no not the burden of bringing noise cancelling headphones for a flight. What a hard life it must be to have to listen to a crying baby for 40 minutes. Totally worth a meltdown that delays an entire flight.

Babies cry. Babies even cry for extended periods. But if babies cry nonstop for an entire flight, the baby is being ignored.

40 minutes is a long time. I'm not saying it definitely was the case, but there's a good chance the baby was being ignored by its parents.

If they're doing this all the time, there's a significant problem that needs to be addressed that does not include you giving them an iPad and expecting the "problem" to go away.

Got to go out of country? Luxury expense without question. Those parents don't need to be there, much less the infant. Take your vacation trip five years down the road.

Taking a plane is not exclusively something for luxury, it's very much a practical utility. I hate to break it to some of y'all itt, but parents can't flip a baby over and hit the off switch. Dealing with infants is a part of the human experience, the boomer shitting his pants over it like a spoiled child wanting his bah-bah should be absolutely mortified at how maladjusted his attitude is.

Sure. Inconvenience me, I'll inconvenience everyone. Make it hell until the problem is rectified. I'm not beneath it, brother. I will bitch as much as the baby. Like this man has done. There's more of us than you realize. I didn't choose to have no kids just for one to ruin my peace and quiet. I am quite vindictive.

Once they're a toddler (or even a little younger really) the iPad usually is an easy way to get them to calm down and remain occupied. Which is why so many people use it as a crutch.

I don't really see a problem with a kid staying occupied with an iPad on a plane though.

the point is that there are gonna be times on flights, bus trips, waiting rooms, etc where there is gonna be a crying baby and thats just how it is, cope
