I don't really visit it, and haven't for many years, but popping in to check... I'm not sure I'd say dead but not really great shape.

As a guess, I'd say there's about a hundred active LUEsers. We've calmed down quite a bit from the shitshow we were 20 years ago.

Most of the real shitters left for LUELinks or and other spinoff sites; some of them get banned on those sites and come back, and quite often we find out they did HORRIBLE shit to get banned from those.

That was a surprise.

Politics board was definitely a cesspool, but it also had a lot of activity and aggregated a lot of information that was fairly easy to block off and ignore in different aspects, and had some really good topics. The Ukraine topic was something I looked into every week for updates on the situation, and there were a lot of checks against the trolls and bad informants, able to suss out and highlight what was wrong and why it was wrong like antibodies against an aggressive virus.

Liked it more than CE, anyway, which is just a melting pot of scum and villany.

Besides the Discord and this topic, are there any decent places to just keep abreast of current events and politics without having to wade through curated articles with bombastic headlines or discussion pages where everything is wrogn?

That's the main reason I'm going to miss it; I almost never posted, but liked to browse it at least once a day. I don't know if I can easily find somewhere else that does the same elsewhere on the net, as crazy as that sounds.

Does LUE still exist?

Lue broke off a long time ago. Went to luelinks, then eti, and now to website blue.

It does still exist here too though. Board isn't too busy but it's there.
