My most recent town game.

For those interested in reading, my account is "matt", but I get too emotionally invested in these games sometimes so I guess that's your disclaimer.

Well that does at least right away show that you are always making early votes ....and sorta scum/town lists

Those were at like 1am when the only other active people in the topic were potentially other scum(ctes).

T1 #279 (about where we're at in this current game): ScumMarth calls 7 other players town and really only had "explanations" for red and Dumey.

T2 #347: ScumMarth calls 6 people town with no defense or follow-up, and all 3 of his mates were on the list (this was after Chris replaced in and had a "hi I'm here folks" post):

On D1 especially last game, ScumMarth really enjoyed asking other players (both town and mates) about other town players - just "how do you feel about X". He did the same to me on plum earlier and didn't follow it up whatsoever when I ignored him. Originally I was pretty indifferent on plum, but this alone gives me a town lean on him.

This is demonstrably false. He had 2 "scum reads" and 7/14 (players other than himself) in his town list halfway through T1, and 6/14 in T2. Saying that he suspected everyone D1 as scum is just wrong.

In red's defense he probably didn't read the game as intensely as other people since he got clipped n1 and spoiled right away.

Also speaking as myself, I think I had a unhealthy mix of town reading and scum reading ppl lol.

Why do you need to defend him?

My memory of the game is actually more accurate post-d1. I don't think I ever stopped following along.

Whether they are actually paired or not, Marth and red looking a bit paired right now tbh. I dont hate a Marth lynch.

Also while theres nothing wrong with sharing with b8, I also feel Mafia is very much the wrong place for crescents personal post. Without intending any disrespect I think we need to keep anything that personal out of the game and find a more appropriate thread.

I dont have much else to add atm. I basically word vomited reads all during video game console mafia and I was wrong probably 90% of the time, so my approach this game is stfu, pay closer attention and try to learn something.

I glanced at it and he is pretty awkward there to start. He felt s lot less awkward as scum and in that town game he mentions liking scum more and I think I believe it.

I guess Marth could be fatigued scum with burnout from the previous game and a good role scum red has to defend but red is usually a bit more crisp with buddies

Also I think Marth is maybe town and that vote on Marth doesn't feel great. I admittedly could be misreading Marth as my experience lately is limited but as town he is pretty good but also awkward which I see some similarities from the town game and here whereas last game he was a bit of a smooth talker

i'd prefer if you kept the word vomit approach, even if you are wrong. giving yourself an excuse to stay quiet is potentially scum cover.

if i think you're completely wrong i just won't listen to what you're saying, but it's still helpful to have your thoughts out there. you can learn by doing and you will get better that way too

Fair, I wont be totally quiet by any means. But Im not feeling great about trying to steer the game the way I did last game with death and sultan mislynches.

Back in alcohol mafia, I shot Marth as gambler because he had no reads and was just jumping on every bandwagon, but he was town

Putting aside the context of his argument, I like Peaf's post in 365. Unless I'm missing context from the prior game, it feels well argued, and isn't defensive but is supporting his argument he brought up earlier.

Marth and Red have felt linked with how supportive they've been. I wouldn't necessarily say it is damning by any means, but at this point I could support going for either of them. Still a lot of time left in the day though.

Also is this game moving slower than recent games here have? I feel like I've been able to follow along better despite being gone for a while this evening, and we're still in topic one over 24 hours in.

rereading Alcohol mafia

you seemed to be more conservative at first in that game, but after awhile you started just gut reading people town and tossing out reads with little justification similar to what you're doing now, so idk you're probably town I guess
