Oh, Wizards actually got 4 pick swaps out of the Beal trade too. So they did a bit better than expected. Most won't convey but I guess there's a chance a few years down the line that they are better than the Suns if shit hits the fan

Wizards are just rebuilding a couple years too late. The moves had to be made, Beal is a good player, but he is not worth the contracts he has. Sucks to be a Wiz fan right now, but realistically they had to get out of that contract.

I had said before the draft there was no way I could be disappointed but somehow they managed it

I had spent the last week talking myself into Black being an okay if sub-optimal pick. But Howard at 11 I cannot ever justify no matter how hard I try. He wasn't the best shooter or best fit and I can't even see how you fit him in the rotation without trades. He would have also probably been there at 20

Apparently their justification was that he played injured most of the year so he's better than the numbers suggest

I'm not used to seeing the Mavs do much during the draft, but I was very happy with what went down and if Lively and Prosper can develop into at least useful role players within two seasons, I think it can work when they inevitably re-sign Irving.
