Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I'm thinking about doing some sort of contest retrospective on the 2003 contest to celebrate its 20th anniversary. I was thinking about talking about each match on the day it took place and try to give my thoughts from what I recall at the time.

elisha cuthbert was a regular on happy endings. don't think i've seen her since. but a lot of teen actresses like that fade away from the public eye. my wife is rewatching one tree hill and whole the show was huge, none of those gals seemed to have notable acting roles after the show.

Voted for 2003, but I want to give a shout out to 2005. Underrated contest imo and it makes me sad to see it with 0 votes.

After having a good chunk of my gaming time recently occupied by gacha back to Zelda and I am finally ready to go to Rito Village I think. I stopped at the ex-stable right outside with the intent that next time I head over there.

2005 was a really good contest, yeah. It's one of the best laid out brackets, for sure, even if some of the matches weren't as good as we hoped.

It's interesting how they use multiple camera shots at the same time, even if it's just different angles of the same scene. I also enjoy seeing all the 2001-era paraphernalia all over the place.

Found another Dragon's Tear in Tears of the Kingdom. I guess that scene confirms that this is a time-traveling Zelda in these Memories, and when she disappeared at the beginning, it sent her back to this time period, for whatever the reason. Rauru suggests we aren't operating in a stable time loop since Zelda's appearance was something that didn't happen originally, so maybe now they can find a way to stop Ganondorf that they didn't find the first time. I'll be curious to see how they link the past with the present (this time, Zelda is the link to the past, lawl).

FF7 trailer was really good. I had kinda forgotten about that with all the other games happening at the moment, but Im excited for more of REMAKE.

I should probably play Intermission sometime.

Intermission is half good. The first half is a lot of fun, going around talking to people, doing side quests, fighting, etc. The second half is mostly just a mediocre dungeon that's way longer than it should be.

Intermission is so short it's fine. I enjoyed it as a wait for the real deal, even if the above is probably true.

That trailer made me giggle in ways I don't think I have since they originally revealed the remake back at e3 2015 where I can still memorize the whole trailer speech. Nothing bakes me warp back to early teen years than these remake announcements.

Yeah, I still need to play the Yuffie DLC. Good to know I've still got some time!

I started the first Mistborn book, The Final Empire. The world's magic system feels like it would be right at home in a JRPG, Persona in particular.

I also like the Fallen Hero trope, so I'm curious to see the backstory unfold. Kinda reminds me of Tales of Symphonia so far in that regard.

I get that some ideas look a lot worse on paper than they do in actuality, but there's one or two of these in particular that seem insane to attempt.

Yeah I am even not knowing what this is, I am a bit nervous.

I say go wild. After Remake Im ready for them to go off the walls with part 2.

Zelda: I didn't lie! I went to Rito Village like I said I would, but now they have me going to objectives in this area so I activated the tower and now I've got a whole new area to explore before getting back on track! >_>

Definitely over halfway through that I'd say. This has been true the whole time but one of the last things I did was fight a Frost Talus to get a Shrine Crystal so it's on my mind but enemies seem to hit a lot harder here than they did in BOTW. At least I certainly don't remember getting hit for 5-6+ heart damage to get one-shot (although I wonder if there's a kind of pity invincibility if you're at full health or something because I noticed that if and only if I was at 5 (and now 6) hearts I would survive certain attacks with a quarter heart. I guess they could have been doing 4.75 and then later 5.75 heart damage but it feels suspicious.

Anyway at Rito Village I guess BOTW Rito helper became chief. If this weren't Zelda I'd wonder if the old chief died or something similarly dark but it *is* Zelda and I eventually found the old chief at the Flight Range. Also because this is Zelda new chief's son will be proven right instead of going out to his doom. I may have played too many soulsborne games lately if that's where my mind keeps heading lol.

Also on the more fun side, I appreciate some of these shrines giving me ideas I never considered - particularly fusing rockets to shields that was awesome lol. That also gave me the idea to put a fan on a shield to hopefully make future sailboats easier to manage. Though if it's anything like flamethrower shields it might just break too fast to be of much help that way. And there I thought I found a nice way to be able to melt ice without wasting items but the shields don't last long.

You can use Ultrahand to use Zonai devices without draining battery or destroying them if you can learn to control it effectively

Being Jack's partner in a shootout hasn't worked out well for anybody so far.

Zelda: Wind Temple beated.

So I actually discovered it before going to find Tulin/following up on the Rito questline but bailed because I wasn't sure I'd be missing story stuff by doing it this way. Turns out I was worried for nothing and you need his unique ability to actually clear the temple for it but yeah.

I do wonder if some of the story scenes on the way are missable though because in theory I could have just warped most of the travel out but I decided to make the trek again just in case and was rewarded with some story scenes. Not sure what, if anything, would have happened if I teleported all/most of the way back there.

Pretty similar to the Divine Beasts though and I'm not sure how to feel about that if only because it felt like the pre-release hype cycle was pushing me in the direction of it not being that but oh well. Boss was neat as well.

Stopped shortly after clearing it though - will probably check a few places that I expect will have changed now that the blizzard is stopped then head back to base and check in on Robbie and Purah.
