So FF16 prologue was pretty fun. I felt battles had the right pacing. Common enemies die quickly, not damage sponges. While miniboss types are sturdy enough for you to go ham, but without taking forever. They seem to need two stagger cycles at least which I think is good. Cus you can do the first cycle to test stuff, the game let's you know how much damage you did, and then you can try to improve on the second one.

User SaveEstelle's advice for FFXVI if you play the demo: Buy 'Charged Magic' ASAP

Charged spells do a TON more stagger damage than normal ones do, by several orders of magnitude. And you can just charge one up passively while doing other things.

I also only played the prologue part of the demo. I did not do the mode that unlocks more of the combat system for you, cus it skips ahead in the story. I'd rather experience that naturally, even if there are no spoilers.

I think Im gonna skip the demo. I know Im getting the game on launch anyway, Ill just wait till next week.

Zelda: Wrapped up the side quests (except the one that requires diamonds. I didn't even have one let alone the... three, I think it needs lol) in Rito Village and the minigames that opened before heading off to get the new quest from Josha.

i'm not buying that kohga survived that fall. nope. if link suffers fall damage i want fairness here. I got Autobuild though and that seems like a worthwhile reward. Seems a little weird that I think both the construct who gives you autobuild and Josha seem to be telling you the exact same thing in terms of "oh there's another chain of statues that goes southwest" when the construct basically says "sounds like that's where kohga meant" while Josha is like "who knows it's a mystery!!!" but eh.

While my ultimate destination is now Hateno Village to follow Robbie for my upgrades, I'll end up stopping by Kakariko on the way since it's an adjoining area and I have other quest/plot hooks there so it'll probably be a bit before I make it to Robbie. Also have two last loose ends I want to wrap up before my journey begins - back while I was exploring the castle I remember running into that one cook. It wasn't a quest but it sounded like something would happen if I cooked the meal he was talking about. I didn't have the ingredients then but I think I do now so I'll see what happens. And then I also think I'll drop by the Forbidden Temple for Impa's quest even though I think it's very technically in a different zone, it feels like an edge case.

We'll see where it stands after that but in terms of the main main areas - plot seems to favor Goron City but in terms of where I'd like to go it'd be Zora > Gerudo > (Rito) > Goron but that's quite a ways off so we'll see what changes by the time I get all of the above stuff done.

So either Jamey is dirty despite Walsh saying she could be trusted or she didn't know the guys she sent out to Teri were dirty.

Also smart move by Jack to think ahead and give Nina a bulletproof vest to fool the bad guy.

the twists eventually become rather silly, but i really liked the ones in 1x06-07. this stretch is some of the best stuff of the series's whole run, so i hope you enjoy!

So the chair I sit in when using my desktop... it may be on its way to the big furniture store in the sky.

I have a tendency to lean a bit towards my right when sitting in it (multiple screens) and last night something just happened and something on the inside must have broke because it just lost the ability to stay level and so it just gets noticeably crooked and uncomfortable. I have no doubt how I've sat in it for years now caused it but dang that chair made it like 15 years lol.

I know its silly that the Big 10 and SEC made a big deal about revealing opponents for next year's schedule, but seeing OU's schedule is a good reminder of why we are leaving the Big 12 (other than money). Looking forward to Tennessee coming back here.

Weird shrine in TotK not sure at all I did it the intended way. Forward Force, I think it was called?

Basically you have to transport one of those giant orbs through the shrine to get it to the thing that unlocks the door. Three main puzzles to it. The first is trivial though because you have to get it across a pool of lava but they give you a pre-built rover that will do it.

Second is where the games began: There's a platform on a diagonal slide with tiny ledges jutting out every so often to the side. You have a wheel, a board, and theoretically the rover you drove here. I quickly ruled out trying to use the board to create a road for the lide to travel on with the wheel. I was stumped here for a long time because the wheel doesn't seem to propel the sliding platform any. Eventually, and this felt like cheating, I activated the wheel, slid it up about halfway with ultrahand myself, and I guess the wheel gripped one of the ledges and held it there (it wasn't ultrahand attached or anything) so I could climb up to the end point and grab it from that side and pull it the rest of the way.

Then the third lmao: You have to get the ball across a river with the river's flow working against you. You have two rafts with two wheels each attached to them on the sides and some boards. Again, the wheels don't seem to propel the rafts, or at the least they're overpowered by the stream, even if you stick all four on one raft. Next I brought both rafts to me and tried to create a chain by going to the raft furthest upstream then taking the one behind and us and putting it in front but the stream pushed me back too fast to make any progress. Then I tried to create this nightmare of a device where the river is divided up into lanes like a swim meet and I thought I could use the boards to get the wheels to ride the tops of the dividers but I could never get the balance right and it kept tipping over during construction but I kinda wish I did just to see if the concept worked lol. Finally did it by Attaching the boards to the wheels on the side and creating like a... motor? paddles? and it awkwardly crossed the river. Not sure that was intended because it looked so weird but it worked.

Frustrating, but fun to try different ideas. I guess maybe I could have trivialized it with Zonai devices but I forbid myself from pulling them out and just like... making a hot-air balloon lol.

And yeah, I refuse to cheat by using anything other than what the shrine provides, haha.

You can't use Zonai device capsules in Shrines.

Having them pre-attached to your weapons/shields can help sometimes, but probably not in this shrine. I just made a really long bridge, went to the other side, and pulled it across with Ultrahand...

lol, making a massive bridge is one of my go to moves but i didn't think i had enough material to make it plausible, plus I knew for a fact that couldn't be the intended solution and I wanted to find something that used the wheels.

Well, I guess I got there in the end but that didn't even occur to me in the second puzzle LOL. Cool that it works there too!

Autobuild is also disabled in shrines yeah.

There's a loooot of shrines where I didn't use the intended solution lol.

There have definitely been a few where I used Ultrahand and Rewind to game the shrine because I couldn't figure out exactly what they wanted me to do

My brother cheesed like half the shrines using Ultrahand Rewind combo with random stuff. I don't see the fun in it but it definitely works.

You know, playing FF16 and seeing how the eikon abilities have cooldowns and you're waiting on a timer to use them again, I wonder if they could have thrown the word ATB somewhere in there to make FF purists a bit happier XD

how'd you like the first plot arc?

It's been a fun show so far! I'm interested to learn more about Jack's mission in Belgrade and find out how it connects to the bad guys' motives and how Palmer is connected to it.

Found my way to Hateno Village in Tears of the Kingdom, and man, there's a lot to do here!

Found this Colosseum in a chasm and got Midna's Helmet as a reward for beating all the enemies!

Good times with both of those. I feel like Hateno didn't actually take that long, though.

I think Palmer did the right thing coming forward with the truth. Of course, doing the right thing has its own consequences, so we'll see how it plays out for him.

Whew, I was finally able to track down Hestu and expand my inventory by quite a bit, so that was helpful!

I hope to find Hestu one day.
