Marcia Lucas saved those first two Star Wars movies from the trash bin and I don't believe she was officially credited before or after the divorce.

But if they were happily married at the time I don't know if that counts.

From what I have gathered, the Star Wars prequel trilogy was released with a demand for 100% of the ticket sales for the initial two weeks. Meaning, the theaters that showed the movies only made profit off of concessions despite being flooded due to these major releases. This was a major money grab, and in the time since, a lot of movie studios have increased their percentage of ticket sales.

As such, movie tickets have inflated and the theaters themselves have taken most of the blame, when the truth is they get less and less of the ticket sales over time. So, no, George Lucas can very easily be linked to the gradual fall of the movie theater as a concept, so he has definitely exploited people.

While I haven't heard of this, it fits with everything I know about movie theater inflation, so that's a shame :(

They initially demanded 100%, or a much smaller share if theaters upgraded their sound system to one that could handle the new audio format they created. Then they switched to a more standard 55/45 after theaters rejected that.

Disney currently demands 80/20 for their bigger releases.

This. However Lucas is definitely one of the LEAST exploitative billionaires but hes still an exploitative billionaire.

Also was the ticket sale cut thing a Lucasfilm decision or a Fox decision? Because Disney does similar stuff all the time, I think they were trying to get 99% for Avengers 1 at least.

I'm not sure where the fascination with finding the least exploitative billionaire comes from. Every billionaire is exploitative, or else they wouldn't be billionaires.

Aren't there a few billionaire athletes? I guess they would be lower than CEO's and the like but even then, their merch was probably created by exploitative means.

No. There are a handful of billionaires who started as athletes and used their money to go on to own a ton of stocks and real estate, which is what made them billionaires. Nobody makes themselves a billionaire on contracts alone.

Yup, every report I've heard is that Valve is not a fun place to work.
