I like both songs in match 1, but I heard UDT a few times in Supra and I tend to like songs I've heard multiple times more so it was kinda the winner by default lol. Surprising, given UDT is not something I'd expect to like. GSS is great as always, LTE... not so. What the fuck. Song of Mourning is nice, but it goes on for too long and doesn't have the FFIII overworld theme in it, false advertising smh. Wecgas sure did exist. Match 1 is mean, the other two not so much.

Okay I know it's the funny la-hee song but I really like the weird phrasing of the main vocal line, where the first phrase goes half a measure longer than it feels like it should and everything's offset for a measure and a half before it gets back on track in bar 7. Really close pairing, match 2 maybe even closer.

I'm kinda annoyed this song is a meme because I think it's very good. Probably the best song in base Shadowbringers. Has a great adventurous feel to it. Un Deux Trois is quite nice too. The singing is a bit awkward though, and it's not quite the best Deemo I've heard.

Speaking of awkward singing, GSS's vocals are certainly fun, though I could hardly call them good. They kinda overwhelm the rest of the song, sadly. LTE is better than some LSD songs, but I still don't particularly like it.

Song of Mourning, more like Song of Boring. LMAO! Wecgas isn't quite as good as I felt about it the first couple times, but it's still enjoyable.

civilizations is such a cool song. the kinda tribal percussion, the vocals that just light up the piece ... and i hope that whoever went ham on that woodwind got a pay raise. there's life interwoven in every inch of this composition. meme music be damned, this shit is no joke.

un deux trois my beloved :)) what a cute, sweet little song. soft, kiddish vocals can be a hit or miss, but this song immediately caught my ears when i heard it in the supra 2022 music contest. despite voting against it r1. funny that this track ended up going up against wondertart haha. i love the counting, the rhythm. i still sing this song to myself sometimes. it immediately picks up my mood.

i don't like the vocals in god shattering star as much as i feel like i ought to and i don't know why. but i do love how the instrumentals are frenetic and chaotic when they accompany the vocals. it really does feel like a final boss theme. so much power. the song has a nice, strong ending to it too.

man this song is so punchy, so weird!! discordant rhythm that's also underlined with ethereal soundscape. and those funky bubble sounds?? i really wish i could explain why these kind of songs hit the spot. i already have trouble explaining organic sounding music with "real" instruments, but something like this?? i dunno, i took violin classes in sixth grade and didn't take any music classes since... i know SHIT about music. this just feels like weird alien rave music or (appropriately) something from a bizarre dream. i actually remembered some of my dreams last night, and one of them had a sort of location where i could hear this playing ... wtf osamu sato get out of my HEAD.

i heard this song once (or at the very least one that shares this leitmotif/sounds very similar, i don't know pso music well) a while before noms went up. felt kind of sad that i couldn't remember where it came from, just that it made me feel like a fairytale. (wtf ive been comparing stuff to fairytales lately) the backing choir is really fucking sick. it doesn't seem like a big thing but they really enhance those beautiful vocals.

arknights music is always surprising. the juxtapose of electronic and dubstep to organ and choir really feels like a meeting of different timelines. that's something i like in music, this contrast ... nature vs machines, ice vs fire, yadda yadda.

pretty decent day overall, i have clear preferences, but competition was nice :) i am definitely bummed that i cannot vote for LA HEE, i would easily take it over a lot of the bracket.

before I ever played ffxiv, I already knew about the meme. I had no idea it was connected to this song. Then I reached the Greatwood in 14 and immediately said to my friends "yo why haven't any of y'all told me about this" and they were like "girl it's a meme song i thought you didn't like meme songs" to which i said "wait what" thank you for listening to my ted talk.

all counting songs are good. well-known fact. I don't understand why the pirate ship is leading to a cat sinking but I accept it. I love how cheerful and bubbly deemo stuff is, so different from most rhythm games. I like happy music it makes me happy. Plus it doesn't have the silly "mega bass drum" that so much rhythm music has. but apparently i am Morally Required to boycott deemo now? It's not really clear. Regardless I am voting against my own nom and i hate it. But the song gets so powerful with the triplets whenever we start counting it's so good, it just gets so much pressure and momentum i love it.

Seeing XIV earlier makes me really attuned to that issue, since that's a game that has consistently, for almost a decade now, mistranslated that word as "star" when in context it unambiguously means "planet." And Squeenix knows this too because the same word is used to mean "planet" in FF7 and they don't screw that up, not even in the remakes. Though perhaps it is supposed to mean "star" here, like a meteor swinging in to conk some god in the head? I should play 3 houses. whoops i ran out of time to really talk about the song "oh no." ooh the syncopation at like 3:30 is pretty cool, guess that means i get to give it one compliment.

Based on this song, I'm perfectly happy to never try LSD.

hi english lyrics. the singer really struggled to hit that low note. song has potential, see you in five minutes to discuss if it fulfills that potential. I like the con-lang chanting more than the actual lyrics, the music is so much broader there. Yeah this key is not doing the singer any favors, stop writing those super low notes. I'm at the halfway point and the music feels like it's near the end? Though the flute countermelody at 3:00 ish is pretty. Oh wow I like the instrumental interlude a lot more, the composer was just so much more creative. Yeah the singer's come back now, I think the focus on her voice harms the song in a weird way. This coda verse (the last minute) feels unnecessary.

ooh is this a conlang or an eastern european language? There's no way to know, no googling allowed. The opening is really cool. French horn solo makes me happy, but the rhythm is trying really hard to overpower everything. NO NOT THE BASS DROP IT DROP THE BASS NO THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT AHHHHH. okay okay i'm safe for now this is so delectably evil I like it . There's just so many lines of thought doing their own thing yet as a cohesive whole. What is this, an organ? Now we're bouncing between piano and strings, I love it, just an army on the march to conquer the world. Yeah. Definitely too much focus on the bass at times, but other than that, this is pretty cool! ha i cheated it's Old English the presence of "fore" probably should've given that away "whoops." Though my dictionary says "searu" is "skill," not "machines." Regardless Fandom saying "Steel before the King, Machines before the Homeland" is probably entirely wrong.

The first minute of Un Deux Trois is a little too simplistic, from 1:11 on the extra layers and effects pull me into it. So he got out his guitar sounds amazing.

Match 3 is one of the hardest yet, Song of Mourning is somber, beautiful, and keeps building up to the majestic finale. Ill be happy whichever wins this one.
