Been waiting for this and more Nick Fury for a while, so I hope its good. We havent seen him since Far From Home 4 years ago.

Though kind of pissed that Loki Season 2 would probably be releasing tonight if it not for Johnathan Majors.

Alright, I'm starting Captain Marvel.

I forgot that D+ doesn't show the runtime and I fucking hate it.

Captain Marvel is pretty good tbh. Nothing amazing, but it's basically a Carol + Nick Fury buddy cop type movie. It's the most Nick Fury outside Winter Soldier.

Maybe it's just because I wasn't paying super close attention to it and I mostly know what happened already, but I just thought CM was okay. Definitely a lower tier Marvel movie.

Most of the criticisms I've seen for it turned out to be dumb though.

Goddammit, D+ confuses me. It actually had a progress meter in Captain Marvel but only near the end of it. Now it doesn't.

Skrullos? Sometimes something deeeeeply Golden Age comic book throws itself up in the MCU and that name is certainly one of them lol.

Robin Shabotski is looking rough compared to her former greatness.

Not bad for a marvel tv show. So far.

Id really like this one to be good but given that WandaVision, Loki, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, Hawkeye, etc. were all varying degrees of bad, I have little hope.

Actually pretty solid. I kinda rolled my eyes at people saying it was going to be more serious or "the Andor of the MCU" but it actually was pretty serious. You only got a few mild jokes and they're no different than what you'd see in something like James Bond.

The only major issue I had is that it wants you to treat Talos and his wife as serious characters when, before now, they just weren't. In CM, Talos was a very typical Marvel quipster and that extended to him and his wife showing up in Far From Home. So that takes a little getting used to.

But I enjoyed the twist that Daenarys is his daughter and the potential intrigue of her working for her mother's killer. Not seen much of the villain so far, so can't say much either way there.

He's not entirely wrong tbh. They're enjoyable, but I don't think any show has been great.

Which one of them would you say is not any degree of bad? Im genuinely curious.

It was good, but not Andor good. Limited to comparing the first eps of each series for the moment, hopefully it will pick up.

Not liking D+ marvel is certainly not a contrarian opinion. But the first episode wasnt bad!

So far I think as far as firdt episodes go

Falcon winter soldier, loki, moon knight, shr hulk were better

This might be one of those shows that starts off slow, but has huge payoff near the end.

FWIW, I'm liking the serious tone and I hope it does play around with certain characters we know being Skrulls the entire time. I feel like it at least has to be a sure bet with Agent Carter.

Anyone having that problem where the episode will get stuck on the disney plus logo and won't start the episode? I've been getting that a lot when trying to watch a new episode of anything on there. No problem when trying to watch a movie or an episode I already saw.

Still haven't finished/watched;
Hawkeye, MoonKnight, Ms Marvel.

Definitely one of the better MCU first episodes.

Those last two are worth a watch, especially Moon Knight. I honestly think that Ms. Marvel is better than Moon Knight: Iman Vellani amazed me with her portrayal of Kamala Khan, and the rest of the cast is great. Story is so-so. But I understand that Ms. Marvel wasn't everyone's cup o' tea, as it appealed mostly to a younger audience.

Hawkeye is only worth it for the banter between Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova. Their on screen chemistry was an absolute joy to watch, unlike the rest of the show. Honestly? Just find clips of their interactions on YT. That's all you need to know about Hawkeye.

Okay got to watching it, best solid first episode from the MCU so far. I like it's getting to the politics, but I can see this type of plot devolving to clicheds if done wrong. I hope it sticks its landing in the finale.

My concern too. Quite a few did not stick the landing very well, especially Falcon & Winter Soldier, which was great until episodes 5 and 6.

Yeah Maria has been around since when, the very first Avengers movie? It wouldn't surprise me much if she was officially dead.

Strong first episode imo.

Her death needs to stick, too many fake deaths/revivals and when some one dies it needs to be a heroic sacrifice. This is good, having a US agent body near a terrorist attack in russia is good (though stolen from cod) setup

I was thinking that but wasn't sure those prisoners are kept alive after the Skrulls take their place. Guess we'll see but since they didn't show him dead, I'll assume he'll show up at the end.

Also, pretty obvious this show will show the formation of SWORD and the POTUS will likely be a Skrull/die, leading into Thunderbolt Ross being the new POTUS in Cap 4.

You know I mostly agree with this. Sure Monica's character does feel wasted if this is a real death, but this shows not only tension and risks involved, but also like you said a really good set up as well. There are just way too many fake deaths in the MCU in my opinion.
