So Texas makes their own power grid so they don't have to deal with federal regulations then they turn around and accept a grant so they can make their power grid meet federal standards?

to be fair, sixty million is a rounding error in federal spending.
It's still bullshit.

Once again blue states save red ones from their failures, only to have the people of those red states (especially the politicians) make up insane conspiracies about their sugar daddies.

I would say as a Texan I thank the government for bailing out the TX power grid, however I'm actually fortunate enough to live in one of the few cities (and only major city) west enough that we're not under that bullshit.

It's not about being dumb, it's because Dems/Liberals don't employ the Republican tactic of just letting people suffer and die if their demands aren't met, as the terrorist Republicans do. They have empathy and a sense of decency, whereas Republicans have disdain and inhumanity

Remember how the grid failed in winter and Republicans did these three things?
Fled the state because they had the money to do so
Blame their politicial enemies while attacking their own voters and consitiutants as being "part of the problem"
Beg for money from the federal government which they then pocketed for their own ends.

What did Democrats do
Come into the state with health supplies and grant them federal aid, some even physically showed up to help people

What did Republicans do afterwards
Blame Democrats for the deaths, delays and overall complete failure to look after the people who put them into power
fought desperately against any few investigations into where that money went with variable success, perhaps even total success as even when a few got caught the cases are either indefinitely delayed or dropped.
Won their re-elections despite the public being outraged at them.

In short, corruption is not only acceptable it's encouraged under this system, even worse, the federial government HAS to give them money because of how bad it looks politically if Dems are in charge, should the federal government withold funds that are suppose to help people, Conservative media is very powerful in this country and non conservative media would jump on the band wagon as well, When it's a conservative federal government they have to prop up Texas demands to get Texas congressmen and Senators on their side for whatever horrible legislation they want, they'll be on their side anyway but keeping their wheels greased in this way 100 percent assures their loyalty.

It's fucked, man. A legit con game where the people who get the prize are the ones who don't have to make any risk of losing anything.

I mean, its common sense that all fucking federal handouts should come with airtight stipulations as to what its spent on. Deviating from these stipulations in any way should result in heavy consequences.

Id say the US is a joke, but sadly this problem isnt restricted to the US.

I was bored:

According to the most recent statistics I could find, Texas should be receiving $71.8 billion total aid instead of the cited $68.2 there.

Only when doing a direct comparison to California tax revenues collected, not total US tax revenue. ie. Texas pays in 62% as much tax revenue as California and would then receive 62% as much aid, which would be $71.8 billion compared to Californias $116 billion.

She didn't just raise funds, she flew to Texas and personally helped delivery food to those in need. Meanwhile, Cruz's ass was sitting on a sunny beach in Mexico.

And right-wing media, which led to the common person as well, gave her shit for "pretending to care for photo ops" while they champion hurting the common person and/or doing nothing.

Truly only the most vile people are right-wingers in modern times.
