So she wears the jumpsuit because she's hiding the fact that she's a Blade. More specifically, a Flesh Eater, which is a Blade that has consumed human DNA of some sort. Her situation was she was raised like another daughter in nobility, and when the father's real daughter died he forced Nia to consume the real daughter so she could live on within Nia. She then became ostracized once her village found out. Her Blade form is...pretty revealing too.

Yes I have seen people be prudes about the Yakuza series, like the example posted above. I also saw a lot of people complaining about the negative depiction of anti-sex work organisations in Yakuza Like a Dragon, probably because it hit a bit too close to home for them.

I remember this precisely because the entirety of the gaming world agreed to dunk on this dude for this. Like, there's no nudity in the Yakuza games, so this guy is admitting to covering his eyes at the sight of adult women in bikinis. It's pathetic, and simultaneously a great example of Japanese fanservice as a whole not being an issue to gamers, it's just the Loli shit normal people take issue with.

In Yakuza, a game known for its fanservice (among many other things, I love Yakuza), the only example of someone taking issue with said fanservice (featuring adult characters) also serves as an example of gamers as a whole having no problem with fanservice. If someone is meant to be attractive or desired in Yakuza, they are obviously an adult, and gamers take zero issue with at large.

You can make some valid claims regarding the disparity of Japanese aesthetics & their general disregard to for realism, meaning most Japanese characters don't put emphasis on "realistic" depictions of things like age, or race, but it ultimately just comes down to hypocrisy, ethnocentrism, & xenophobia at the end of the day. Whatever complaints about Japanese games are always a game of moving goalposts. Complain the lolis look like children, even if they're legitimately not (i.e. no "actually 400 years old shenanigans); complain the actual adults "don't look mature enough", even if by the work's standards, they're CLEARLY not children; make them actually more mature looking adults, & complain about how it's just pandering for "lonely incels"; yet the game that's become famous for full nudity & the ability to sex a bear (not even a furry, AN ACTUAL BEAR) is just fine, but the big boobed anime waifus are the problem.

See if I'm gonna complain about LaD fanservice, it's pretty much specifically those videos from 0. They're just there, and they're 30 seconds of the lady playing in a bikini.

It's simultaneously too much and not enough. If the fanservice is worked into the gameplay like Gravure Photo or Live Chat (Live Chat moreso because it's hilarious watching Kiryu type), then I can appreciate the novelty of working the fanservice into it.

Even the Catfight Club, despite being the worst minigame in Like a Dragon history, isn't as such because of the fanservice. Some of the moves those ladies do are super-hype.

Part of that drama was from SE's supposed "ethics department" which felt like Tifa's chest needed to be revised to begin with. If it was just a redesign for the tone of the game, it wouldn't have been a big deal. Also, the dismissive attitude towards Tifa's original design, low-key supports my original point.
