Not a bad list, actually quite good.

But uh.. unless they have like a smaller than average buggy there's no way that fills it up.
By "full cart" I didn't intend to mean a literal full cart bursting at the seams lol. More like just taking up all of the space at the bottom and maybe using the basket at the handle. If you spend time properly consolidating, it definitely wouldn't be a full cart and you could pack a shit ton more. I'm usually too lazy to do that though, and I just throw my stuff in there. Bread goes into the basket.

That list was actually my previous receipt

I get the point he's making, but the bad purchasing choices also distract from it. Buying organic food while also buying processed chips and cereal? He could get more food cheaper and healthier if he just skipped the snack food and bought non-organic versions of all the other stuff.

Yeah, it is ridiculous that $100 only buys that much though, even with his shopping habits.

Its not inflation, its price gouging.
Cost of supply chain actually. It gets passed around. When price in inflated on one end all along the line the cost gets passed along. For instance way back when before ethanol was added to gas, I use to be able to feed my cows for $5 for a $50 bag. Now its $9 or 10. That changed the price of meat at the stores. Everyone tries to offset the increased price

I meant price gouging going up the supply chain and exacerbated at various levels of it. Im the son of a cattle farmer, I know exactly how much the price of feed has increased while the price you can sell beef for has decreased.

Waiwi juice, so Hawaii. If you are in Hawaii then yeah, anything that has to be shipped in will cost me.

I'm sorry, but it's hard for me to take this guy seriously based on the stuff he purchased.

Like for example - organic ground beef. Nobody who is shopping on a budget should be purchasing it. It's a luxury item. According to Ralph's website, it normally goes for 9.49 a lb. It's currently on sale for 8.99. That's ridiculous. I can get a pound of beef at my local store for around 2.49 a lb and comparably my 3.6 lbs of beef for the same price will go much farther. I could stretch that to at least 5-6 meals.

Walmart's store brand cereal is easily 1/2 the cost of name brand and there's little taste difference, IMO. The little bags of chips are expensive and a waste of plastic. He could easily buy a giant bag and portion it out. Precut watermelon is another luxury item. For 5 dollars I could buy a whole watermelon, cut it myself, and get at least 4x the amount he paid for it, etc.

Don't get me wrong: inflation and prices HAVE gotten out of hand but this dude's shopping trip is filled with poor choices.

Im in Hawaii but its not as expensive :<

The pizzas are usually a buck, maybe $1.50 when not on sale, bacon bits around $3, cold cuts between $3-$5, etc. You better slap some sense into your local grocer and tell them youre going to Foodland if they dont stop ripping you off >:(

You actually just can't shop lol. I'm in & out of stores all the time & I'm actually in a decent sized city.
The gallon drink is about 5.99-6.99 usually, the sweet Hawaiian 4.99-5.99, the bread 4.99, the cheese 3.99 or so, totinos 3.99$, wipes 4.99, bacon bits 2.99, I could go on. All of that shouldn't be more than 70$

You're correct. And even with the numbers you just set there and using the max price, it would be $45 including tax. Also assuming the wipes were even a part of the purchase. That would leave the lunch meat, strudels, and nutrigrain. Value-size toaster strudel from Walmart is $4.97. Oscar Mayer meat is $8.24 and the nutrigrains from Target are 3.29.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/3/0/2/AAb-t6AAE3Wm.png https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/3/0/3/AAb-t6AAE3Wn.png https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/3/0/4/AAb-t6AAE3Wo.png

It adds up to 63.18, tax included. Stuff's expensive where I am too. Even with buying a bunch of named brands like that, it should be nowhere near $107 or $117.

EDIT: I think the nutrigrains are actually Mixed Berry and not Blueberry. In that case, they should cost even less. I see Walmart selling for $3.18

It's gotten to the point in my province where gas is 1.94/L and groceries have gone up nearly 20 percent in the past 2 years. It's so bad that they are actually bringing all the stores together to figure out a way to stop it from being so expensive. I mean... I have my own solution to it all.... build more farms... rather than importing food like we do because its cheaper, grow it here and figure out a way to sell it for cheaper than importing.
