they probably arent trying hard yet

theres ways to detect whether an ad has loaded, has been watched, etc. implement a thorough enough system and there's not much that can be done to negate it. it will happen eventually

Log out, use a vpn, disable adblocker > reload > turn it back on. This is a losing battle for YT, they update slower, they're on job hours and are using up resources and they need to be sure they don't break anything while the blockers are free and more people will be working on them which results in faster updates. Just give it a bit at worst and it'll be blocking ads like usual.

Exactly. VPNs based in countries under the Five Eyes program will have to comply, but ones based in countries like Panama can rightly tell the US (or Australia, or the UK, etc.) to fuck off.

The best they can do is smear them in the media. Accuse them of enabling child predators, the same one they use for any technology they don't like (encryption).

Proxy scripts are already a thing, which the horde of nerds figure out quickly.
The way the internet works, is that full sourcecode of your webpage has to be publicly visible. Until there's a precompiled web again (and that was rejected the first time), the best you can do is obfuscate your code with goofy structures and random variable names.

IP bans affect more than just one person. It's a broad hammer that affects a local area/ISP.

And it's very easy to avoid by using a VPN.

So if they IP ban everyone who uses an adblocker, they will have IP banned everyone with a computer and internet connection.

Then YouTube collapses, because it blocked every viewer and every content creator.

This is why IP bans are very unlikely, at least for more than a few hours at a time. There's too much potential for collateral damage, and anyone with the least amount of tech savvy can trivially work around it.

This is the real answer. I switched from brace to Firefox thinking it was a Chromium thing, then a day later got it in Firefox. Clearing the cache and updating filters, havent seen it in two days.

It's been my experience that most ad blocking problems are solved just by doing this. Also helps that the filter list maintainers are actively staying one step ahead of Google.

No issues on Android with FF+UBO but I'm starting to see this on desktop, even after reinstalling the extension. Might've been because I didn't fully reload the tab, just switched back to it after a browser restart. No conflicting extensions either.

You need Privacy Badger and Firefox. It's the only web browser out there that doesn't use Chromium.
