Xbox is the worst selling mainstream console right now. Steam is the more popular store on PC. More people are subscribed to PS+ than Game Pass. More people bought Mario Kart 8 than are subscribed to Game Pass. Call of Duty is still multiplat and going to Nintendo platforms in addition to boot for the next decade. All of the games are now going to Game Pass. The Blizzard stuff like Diablo and Overwatch isn't going anywhere. Activision don't really seem to be currently making anything else. Outside of a potential new survival IP from Blizzard going exclusive to PC and Xbox I don't really know what's changing for most people anytime soon? I played it for a bit at launch, it was pretty fun, but I did feel like after I did all the quests, there wasn't a lot to do but grind, but that's WoW in a nutshell. Not enough content. Just mount farming and shit. Since Activision initially acquired Blizzard, games went from AAA to AA, you can no longer buy items in-game with in-game currency, and most of the original staff left to form their own company. Did you know that at one point Medal of Honor was actually beating Call of Duty? It took 4 COD games before they overtook MOH on PC. Sony for quite some time had SOCOM, but then just stopped making them. Hell, for a while Battlefield was overtaking Call of Duty, but then they just started releasing garbage. There are so many franchises out there that they can avail of that they actively do not choose to port or make a sequel to, and that's not even counting your money making franchises like Spyro, Gex, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter. Or making original new games that people could get excited about. You want companies to hear you? speak with your wallet. Stop buying COD games and start buying other games. Video games are just an entirely different beast. With a movie it's essential to go through a movie studio. Pretty much any developer can release a game digitally and if it gets the right momentum it can overtake even the biggest games.
