Dont think theres any OP character besides maybe Terra? Most of them are regular joes that can do some magic. Maybe the cast of 16 since they turn into summons.

I've read that Lightning is pretty strong, but I never played that game so I don't know.

Besides her, even the super-human ones aren't going to compete with the strength of Wonder Woman, or speed of Flash, or even the abilities of Green Lantern.

Cecil - Casts Protect, gets one-shotted anyway
Butz - I dunno, uses a spell? Wonder Woman tanks it and he ded
Terra - Actually would put up a fight, but then Martian Manhunter takes her out
Cloud - Could handle Batman in a straight-up fight. Loses to Wonder Woman
Squall - Duels Hawkgirl. Puts up a good fight but her mace breaks his sword and he loses
Zidane - Shows up, gropes Wonder Woman's butt, uses Flee
Tidus - Trys to do a cool flip move, Hawkgirl takes him out mid-air
Vaan? - I never played this one either. I assume he's useless
Lightning - idk?

Bosses are immune to the eat command so it won't be possible to end the final boss fight of the game by eating it.

Almost every League lineup has a magic user.

So you have Zatanna or Fate run interference on the magic and then its lights out.

Tifa and Zell don't use weapons.

Flash is repeatedly taken down by Captain Cold who just freezes the ground. Something tons of FF goons can do as well as summon Shiva

I think JL have weaker defense against mental attacks than the FF bois

Except Cloud I guess

I also wonder what happens if Kimarhi lancet's a Super or if Quina eats one.
Does any DC goon have a defense against Matra Magic? if not. Quina's eating good.

Brass knuckles or gauntlets also count as weapons.

And while the league doesnt have the best mental defenses Martian manhunter can shield them from any potential arks.

for cloud idk though. Maybe after he recovers mentally, but until then hes probably the most vulnerable of anyone.

It really depends a lot on if we're talking journey start or journey end FF characters. Because the discrepancy is enormous.

Journey start, most of them are maybe twice as strong as a normal human. Some defy this, but that's a pretty good benchmark. As a group, they wouldn't keep up with one mid tier hero.

Journey end, any single party member could probably keep up with Superman or Wonder Woman. They're tanking meteor strikes and flinging nukes. Relics, accessories, or learned abilities nullify status effects (psychic or biological attacks) or instant death. Magic can't be dodged and doesn't miss. Some of the stronger ones become literal gods or equivalent to them in power.

Terra isn't even in the top 10 for OP protagonists in FF.

That said the protags still have no chance. If only because none of them could ever beat The Flash.

JRPGs absolutely lack rigid limits. Hence why any contest between them in terms of power always ends up with someone disagreeing with how strong/fast they are.

This somehow needs to be stated time and time again. Magic isn't Superman (or any other JL member)'s weakness. He just has the same defense to it as everyone else which is little compared to the defense he has against conventional attacks. The same defense any FF character that isn't a straight-up mage has.

Martian Manhunt weak to fire

Wonder Woman weak to bullets

Superman weak to kryptonite

Flash is just a jobber in general. Only strong once in a blue moon. Not a threat

I forget the rest of the members but they probably aren't that powerful
