If you had told me that under Biden we would have the lowest unemployment numbers in decades, have passed the largest climate spending bill ever, poured tens of billions into the IRS so that they can go after large tax evaders, cancelled the student loans of millions of people, totalling over 60 billion, with the majority of those cancellations happening to low income people who were unfortunate enough to go to schools that essentially defrauded them and public servents, plus setup a new income based repayment program that drastically reduces student loan payments. Plus codify gay marriage, CHIPS bill, etc.

And all that happened with a 1 seat majority in the Senate?

If you had told me all of the above would happen with my 2020 vote for Biden, I'd have been joyous and would be asking how much of a landslide Biden would win 2024. But that's just me

Approval rating of Biden is dropping across all races. Economic concerns, immigration concerns, increase in crime, his foreign policy, his inability to string together multiple sentences. He didn't inspire confidence in Dems 3 years ago and it's getting worse.

I still remember how he said he'd heal the country blah blah blah and we're arguably worse now. If anything he kept adding fuel to the fire instead of compromising or actually trying to unite the country. He's busy throwing away money to Ukraine and now Israel despite his own country sinking through inflation.

Feelings definitely dictate reality when it comes to politics. The fact that people "feel like the economy is bad" when we have the lowest inflation of the G7 nations and the lowest unemployment since the 60s with stronger quarters than expected frequently happening is a good demonstration of that.

Jasmine Crockett is amazing from how she called out the GOP in one of their stupid hearings on Hunter Biden and an interview I've heard with her.

I can either tell them that they are right and that they should want Biden out or I can help them however I can and try to provide them with sources that can help them in their situation, if any exists and they haven't already attempted it.

What I am against is the doom and gloom politics of saying it's Bidens fault and that they should not vote and it's all useless and hopeless.

You can't unite with people who don't want to unite. Republicans only see themselves as the rightful owners of the country, and see everyone else as their enemy. You can't work with people like that. That Biden even suggested is why a lot of democrats don't like him. We don't want to work with people who want to murder us. Why would we? I just don't get why 'moderates' think we should work with people who would sooner shoot us up with their AR-15's, as they would open a door for us. I just think it's good to be honest about the economy and base it on actual facts and not "vibes". Can and are people having bad times? Yes, and I don't think anyone will deny that. But that's different than saying the economy is bad and making people think it's bad for everyone or that nothing has been done under Biden

The thing is about takes like this, is that no one cares if the economy is good for the nation or upper class in general. No one cares that money is being made. Vast majority of people care that they're getting reamed from every direction with costs going up on literally everything, constantly seeing in the news companies posting record profits companies, and seeing no relief in sight for themselves.

Not to mention the looming dread from AI, the job landscape changing incredibly fast, and a variety of other issues. "The economy is bad" is code for the population saying "I don't feel valued and only see doom ahead "

But, we won't do anything really to address that because poor people matter less than ever these days apparently, and we like seeing numbers go up for the tip top folks.

So, the vibes do matter because the worse they get the faster we end up walking to an inevitable cliff. Or rioting possibly.

They greatly benefited from the child tax credit, for example, and yeah because of Manchin & all Senatorial Republicans that went away, but blaming Biden, someone who desperately said it needed to be kept multiple times, for the repeal would be a testament to how ignorant the average person is on politics and how they do seem to view the President as some sort of king in their ability to get things done, that the only reason it didn't happen is because they didn't want it to, when that's usually not at all why.
