You forgot under indictment for 90 some odd charges, convicted of sexual assault, scammed students out of money they didn't really even have, committed fraud with his charity foundation, attempted to overturn a democratic election, incited an inserruction, etc, etc, etc.

They have a ton of power and are now in a position to act upon these shitty plans. Project 2025 seeks to make it permanent. Its horribly ignorant to say that theres no different between Trump and Biden

Roe V wade is gone now. Thats just one example of a conservative supreme court put in place by Trump, that shows they arent playing around. Also, if Trump wins do you think hell just leave peacefully when his term is up?

Democrats had a supermajority and didn't codify it. McConnell committed treason when he stole seats from Obama while the Democrats did nothing.

So much failure and do nothings from Democrats.

Why does the exact amount matter? I've sorta been trying to find it and search engines just plain don't work anymore. They had a supermajority around 2008 - 2010 which is maybe the 111th congress.

Unfortunately Joe Lieberman and Ben Nelson were playing the Joe Manchin and Krysten Simema role there. They were never gonna vote to codify reproductive rights.

Must be nice for those people to have such a privileged life that they can afford to just coast through the next four years with little changes occurring to them personally while living under the delusion that it will magically fix everything after. Many people unfortunately don't have that and will have their lives destroyed by either their rights being removed, having to hide who they truly are or even being kicked out of the country.

Obergefell (same sex marriage SCOTUS) case wasn't even decided until 2015, and you think a codifying Roe V Wade would have been possible in 08-09 with that majority ?

Unless my memory is wrong, even California couldn't get enough votes to legalize gay marriage in 2008.

No they do, it's just that it's fucking stupid and makes 0 sense. It's simply that the democrats will realize the error of their ways, the DNC will elect a 35 year old progressive that does everything that person wants, they will obviously win in a landslide election along with 60+ like minded democratic Senators and 220+ Representatives and they will pass all bills that will unfuck everything the republicans have been doing for decades along with all the new things that will make America great while doing nothing bad.

It was a pretty straight answer.

Democrats keeping putting forward candidates leftists generally dislike. And theyll keep doing it because they know they have the moral high ground, and that their constituents will show up to oppose conservative evil.

However, many leftists are just fine with showing Dem leadership that they will let them lose this election if they will not put forward candidates who actually represent them.

Its the only real way to force Dem leadership to take them seriously. If not, well just keep doing the whole hey guys just vote for this person just this once and well give you what you want in four years. It has to stop.

Is it a destructive tactic in the short run? Yes. But maybe after 2028, Dem leadership will respect the will of their constituents.

Is it a destructive tactic in the short run? Yes. But maybe after 2028, Dem leadership will respect the will of their constituents.

That will only happen when centrist voters gravitate further left with time. Focus on those people rather than people already voting against at least some of the things you hate. Use that energy to educate the fickle moderates that don't understand the extent of just why Trump is a threat (or maybe don't because they're an easily scared bunch and aggressive further left people do a terrible job of waking them up to harsh realities like how impending of a threat climate change is, sometimes just alienating them further).

We aren't getting progressive leaders until a majority of the country will get behind them, and it's not registered Democrats who tend to be your problem, but the votes that are actually up for grabs that need further convincing. Letting Republicans win, if anything, makes Democrats more likely to want to pursue the safer option the next go-around.
