There's an archery hunting place not too far that I go to once in a while. Excellent teacher. I don't know if it's difficult, but he made it easy to understand how to get all my shots on target.

Depends on the weight. 30lb or lower are pretty easy.

When I was a kid. Compound bows are hard as fuck to pull back. At least the ones I shot. Wasn't fun.

Yeah if you're shooting high draw weight bows, you gotta build up muscle and learn proper form.

Like, I'm pretty sure you could kill someone with one of those if you both:

1. Have extremely good aim.
2. Happen to be trying to kill the guy in the middle of his own open heart surgery.

he was on track to be one of the top archers in the world, but in a stupid ass bet to impress his girlfriend, decided to lift a car
he lifted the back end at ~2000lbs sure enough, but irreparably damaged his arm muscles and had to resign to a teaching position rather than a competitive one

Yeah. I actually had one for awhile. We set up some stacks of hay in the backyard and put a target on it. No idea how safe or legal the setup was but it was fun for awhile.

We had archery in gym class when I was in school. I had shot a bow before that anyway but once we got to gym class everybody did. It was very common where I lived though in the middle of farmland in the Midwest. Lots of hunting families here who grow up bow hunting so most of us as kids have at least shot a bow because of a dad, or uncle, or at a friends house with their dad or uncle.

Yes, extremely poorly. It wasn't one of those good ones though, you held the arrow with your finger and it had a notch on the back for the string, but nothing else. I 'shot' it like a few dozen times and I just couldn't understand the mechanics of it. I was like 10 or 12 at the time so that's probably why, I was just a moron.

Yes. I'm actually a pretty good shot. Just have to remember that arrows are "heavy" so you need to aim above your target, and even a slight breeze can knock it off target. Start with a bow with a light draw, otherwise you'll wake up the next day with sore ass shoulders and back.

Yeah, I've done it at sports thingies in school. I was decent for someone who never practiced outside of those.

Yeah I got a training bow. Only messed with it a few times. But without anyone to teach me I ain't that good

I've used a bow a few times, considering how few times I've used one and how long I go between uses I'm a surprisingly good shot.

My father in law gave me one of his old bows, I need to find a range nearby. It's a good work out too, the bow is I think 65 or 70 lbs draw? Definitely not easy for me, need to use it much more to get used to it.

not a real one. just the ones they have in those sports centers.

the summer camp i went to as a kid had archery as one of the activities and then later on when i was like 16 one of my friends found an archery club that i sometimes went to with them.

i did own my own bow for a while, as we lived on acreage and dad was nice enough to set up a sort of range for us.

Not to simply point and shoot. A toddler can learn to do it. Now getting good with the aim, that takes time.
