Lauren Boeberts 18-year-old son was arrested in Garfield County February 27, 2024, and faces 22 charges.

According to the Rifle Police Departments Facebook page Tyler Boebert was arrested at around 2:30 in the afternoon. The arrest comes after a string of vehicle and property thefts in the area.

• I'm sure she'll find a way to blame this on the left and/or the media.
• Given the picture of that family posing with AR-15s, hopefully the police considered him armed and dangerous.
• She was so focused on the anti-LGBT parts of the Bible she forgot to teach her children the parts about not stealing and not having premarital sex (he knocked his teenage girlfriend up, if you'll recall).
• I wonder if his criminal behavior is a result of the abuse he alleges he suffered at his father's hands. Or maybe he's acting out because his parents went through a public divorce and he didn't know how to process it.
• If he goes to prison, his baby momma is going to have to pull herself up by her bootstraps to raise a child alone as a teenage mother. Government assistance would be socialism, and socialism is bad, eh, Lauren?

Is that the public sex acts lady or was that some other degenerate from their side? Either way, apple doesn't fall far, I see. These people have no values, no morals, no humanity, no humility. Nothing but hate and selfishness. It's sad for the child that he had to be brought up by people like this, but the damage is done and now, as an adult, he's become them. He deserves jail time but his rich amoral mommy will probably spare him from the consequences of his actions, on brand for these freaks.

Hopefully the kid gets his life together - assuming the charges are legit. Not to make any excuses for him, but that family sounds like a fucking trainwreck to grow up in.

To be fair, that's mostly cross party. EVERY politician in existence will protect their family from legal harm if possible. As someone who worked on capital hill explained it to me, it's not just about the love of family, but that other politicians simply won't trust a politician who doesn't try to defend their own blood--with certain exceptions, of course.

Basically, "If you don't go to bat for family, how do I know you'll go to bat for me?"

This is absolutely true, but the galling thing (as you point out in your last line) is that the GOP continues to make family values a centerpiece of whatever their meager attempts at policy are. They scream at everyone else every day about how they should live, who they should marry, etc. All while constantly getting divorced and with family members making poor choices and going on crime sprees.

I have no wish to judge the life choices of anyone: We all make mistakes. But the stupid GOP makes it impossible by making these dumb culture/family wars their entire brand.

I, personally, have been listening to the GOP lecture about how everyone else should live their lives while they cant keep their own lives together for decades now. I am sick of it.

I'm normally not a fan of targeting children because it's very possible that even if they are raised in a healthy and good enviroment, they can still make shitty decisions and/or just be shit people in general. But she did weaponize her children when she had them pose with guns in that one picture, so a lot of my sympathy goes out the door.
