Rules: If you list more than 4 things I'm gonna just tally the first 4 you say. If you list the same character multiple times it won't count. Be nice. Don't shove your personal definition of "Mount Rushmore" down others' throats. Have fun. If you're going to majorly change a vote please quote your old vote to make it easier for me.

Sonic songs-specific rules: If it was in a Sonic game it counts, however, I'd like us to avoid jingles this time. I don't really consider jingles "songs" for this exercise. One day we can do a Rushmore of just iconic video game jingles.

Music must be from a Sonic GAME, we are not covering any other Sonic media, so no theme songs from any of the cartoons or score from the movie.

I'm probably going to end up rolling together remixes and originals, so if you actually want to vote for the shitty remix of Chemical Plant Zone from Forces I will probably just count that as a vote for the original Chemical Plant Zone instead.

YESTERDAY: A low turnout on international women's day for the women of the oval office. This one did require a bit more political knowledge to vote in than normal so I get it.

We ended up having a heated battle for 3rd AND 4th which has not happened in a while. Multiple times we had a 3-way tie between Clinton, Adams and Obama, but it was broken in the last 2 votes so we didn't need to go to tiebreaker. Sorry Michelle!

Most WTF answer: someone voted by "hotness." I admire the balls it takes to admit that you're doing that on international women's day. I respect it. One day we can do a Rushmore of hottest Presidents. Have you seen young Joe Biden? Damn.

Of all the Rushmores we have done, this is the most insanely difficult for me to narrow down to just four.

The series' most iconic song, plus three vocal songs of very different style and time periods; I strongly associate vocal songs with the Sonic franchise. Back in Time is because it won last year's VGMC. Should it belong here, in an attraction for the general public? Who truly knows...

The first three should be pretty straightforward, but I want to go to bat for the last one because I think it's important. Sonic was a joke for the better part of two decades. You know when people actually realized the franchise actually might have found its groove again outside 'just make yet another 2d sonic that's similar to the Genesis ones'? When they reached Giganto or watched a vid of someone playing against it and saw a Super Sonic fight that was more than just 'bonk dude in the head three times to win'. A huge part of making that work was using a type of music the series has never really tried before. It's also an independently popular song that's gotten significant amounts of play in memes and other such things. It's a very recent entry but it feels right, IMO.

green hill zone and drowning theme are honestly the only one two that should def be here, former for its classic theme and the latter for traumatizing multiple generations. live and learn is just the best Crush40 song. 4th is hard because it can be a meme song, a classic sonic song, or something else that you don't even realize is a sonic song. i'll just go with the last one here and pick:

Diamond Dust Zone (Act 1) - Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn/PC)

def a weirder one however this one is actually played outside of Sonic or video games - it's straight up a Christmas theme that gets played publicly without people knowing it.
