Your character appearance is on their servers so deleting your save files from \STEAM\userdata\NUMBER\2054970\remote\win64_save and making edits within the character creator, even with Cloud saves off, does not apply to your in-game character.

Was putting together a compatibility guide for playing the game under Linux/Steam Deck which required me to use various Proton versions. Apparently each of these counted as an individual PC and triggered the Denuvo tamper protection. Now I can't play at all on any of my systems for the crime of trying to help more users enjoy the game.

Unable to Start a New Character on PC
There is no option in game to start a new game or delete the current save file.
Once you create a character, you are stuck with your created character and must purchase Art of Metamorphosis - Character Editor to change it.
I looked online for ways to delete save files on PC, but I was unable to delete Cloud Saves from logging into Steam on a browser.
After deleting a save file on your PC, the Cloud Save will replace the deleted save file.
CAPCOM has demonstrated a high level of disrespect for their players, and I am processing a refund.

Started the game. Made a character. Once I actually started the game and saw how the characters moved I didn't like the character. Wanted to restart/delete that save to try again. Turns out you can't restart your save file. Turns out you can't actually edit your characters appearance.

Am I the only person who never edits their player character after making it?

Like, it should be free, but also I've never had that problem in the first place.

Character stuck in the floor. Cant reload as it auto saved. Cant delete character and make a new one. Off to a really bad start.|

!!EDIT: I fixed it. There is infact a way to delete the save game and start over HERE
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\ [your steam user id]\2054970\remote\win64_save
(assuming steams main folder is on your C drive)

Delete the most recent ones. For me it was the top 3. Then go back to steam and disable cloud storage. I hope this helps lads

Basically every Capcom game is getting review bombed to shit and back on Steam so it's probably worth taking with at least a little grain of salt

More research has shown that you can change your character's appearance in-game. Have to buy an item using in-game currency at major cities. The currency can be acquired either through doing stuff in-game (or through microtransactions, lol). That's a lot better than appearance changing being solely locked to microtransactions.

The difference between this and all the other games Capcom did this with us that this one runs like booty. It's a jumping off point to draw ire, compared to all the other games that had it that ran perfectly (I don't know about MHW, forgive me if that one had problems).

If RE4 was having framerate issues, I guarantee buying Golden Tickets would have SIDDENLY become an enormous problem.
