Oh man I do remember that being annoying along with a few other annoyances I don't remember at the moment, but still I loved playing that game and Jedi Academy when I was a kid. It was the closest thing to getting the Jedi experience in Star Wars video games, back in the early 2000s.

Jedi Outcast and Academy's multiplayer were fantastic. I must have spent over a thousand hours on both back in the day. Such a community. Shame we'll never get anything like that again.

Pain in the ass not being able to deflect the bolts.

I just wish it got a good port. Aspyr's port was atrocious and even outright removed multiplayer.

I just... I CANNOT deal with the opening few levels of Outcast anymore.

Academy got it right. Skip the preamble and just give you the saber and force powers from the jump. It's where the game shines. No need to dick around pretending to be a crappy shooter for half of it like Outcast and Dark Forces 2.

Shame the Katarn games have a much better story than Academy.

I seem to recall that if you have your force meter full, Kyle can just dodge the sniper shot automatically?

Maybe thats only after hes upgraded his force powers more, though. I cant remember after so many years.

It's not tied to force powers so Kyle can deflect anything as long as your crosshairs are lined up to general blaster fire direction. Only way to really dodge sniper fire is to use force speed, find cover, and then repeat until you kill the asshole.

If you use force sense, you should be able to dodge Sniper shots but I'm not sure if that works at level 1 (which it would be on Nar Shaddaa).

idk when you get force sense but i don't have it on the 2nd nar shaddaa level, just push pull and speed

i tried to use speed to get past the row of corridor snipers and they ALL hit me but somehow they can't when i just run past at regular speed lol

do you ever wonder if there's an alternate timeline out there where they made kyle's lightsaber green and the whole vibe is different. i think i might make this a green saber playthrough. but i can never pick a color, they're all so good *_*

also watching the way people do saber combats these days is nuts, like insane control and precision. i've been playing this game since it came out and i still just run around hacking and slashing like a total n00b

I bet there's a mod for Jedi Outcast where you can pick and choose which force power you get and upgraded after each level. I didn't like that you had no choice in which powers you get. It's all predetermined. Another thing like about Jedi Academy more than Outcast, and I always do that extra optional mission so to get my force powers upgraded as much as I can.

I wish Jedi Academy would've gotten a sequel. I would've like it to got something similar to the Mass Effect trilogy. Where we could take our created character on a journey across 3 games to becoming a Jedi Master, or a Sith Lord, or something in the middle. Also have a satisfying ending unlike Mass Effect.

Its the later stealth section that I direct all my rage towards.

Land on that first Tatooine level, boop out all Force Powers and the saber one.

Then I switch saber styles like three times a level.

Admittingly, I've done that too and cheated on later playthroughs. It's fun playing with all the force powers from the get go.

Like why >_> I love Outcast but the level design is so dumb. Jedi Academy is a way better game.
