Setup is probably 4+1/19 which is why town feels so weak and there is precedent for this.

Ben is probably just BP Indy with an ??? wincon and people who know the flavor don't like his claim.

Peaf is scum trying to use me as a smokescreen to refuse to actually participate in the day

And if Peaf isn't godfather then Ulti probably is godfather giving out useless "confirms" to town memebers. If Peaf is godfather though it drastically increases the chances that Ulti is town.

Actually given how intent Peaf is to call me scum I could see Peaf trying to get me lynched here so they can kill Ulti tonight.

I guess it's possible.

I gave my reason for why i think ben is town. Additionally, the way he played his claim makes sense to me.

Neighborizer in the last few years here has been scum more than town but it has been both. So I'm weighing him on his non- claim merits.

But let's play that same game with you and red, shall we?

From no reason to think he's town to vetoing the lynch, all because Ben voted for him then fd did then i made an argument against him (which you admitted to not even reading). And you decided yesterday that you didn't like Ben, so his claim today was pretty irrelevant for you. Red pushed no leads on day 3 and didn't even vote, but that was enough for you to decide he was town.

I'll agree with you though that I've been too focused on you two. If you're town you're just a sensitive guy, if scum you're doing your best to manipulate me again :) all fair in love and war.

So let's put some attention on one of the guys who looked to be extremely on the sidelines during all the events of day 3.

Buuuuuut given how heavily Ulti's been hinting at some kind of recruiter type role (Cop wouldn't be giving "town confirms" as he claims), I'm finding it very curious what he's going to try to get by with.

One thing in Ben's favor: I told him I was going to taunt SBell. He could have just killed me and potentially mislynched him on the assumption I taunted the kill. I even told him where I hinted at it so he wouldn't have to claim neighborizer

Knightz had one of the most powerful Mafia roles I've ever seen and convinced people that we might be looking closer at role madness than anything.

For town flips, SBell's role seems very powerful upon reading it but it is 100% countered by Wallz role. And in fact, would probably lead to at least one mislynch if SBell revealed information that was obscured by Wallz power.

Mafia seems very, very strong based on these two roles!

If only for flavor reasons I absolutely doubt Quendra would be anything of the sort. If she is then Lea/Sultan were on shrooms when they made this game. She's a character who doesn't do anything.

This reads to me like earnest town fd reaction to Corrik's fun claim.

This combined with his interactions with Knightz make me think fd is town. Qed.

I'm saying i think the claimed doctor is scum for a variety of reasons. But I'm setting them aside to avoid being too tunneled.

I still think red is scum too. Just like day 3, on day 4 red has done less for red than Blade has.

Well shit. I spent several hours with my mom after work today so I WAS busy, but then I waited a little longer for MZero to check in because I wanted to test if he was really taunter based upon how he reacted to the day going up.

I wanted him to accuse the person he targeted of MY effect, but if he targeted the corpse (HOW many people targeted SBell last night ??) then that's not going to happen.

In any case MZero will be able to corroborate my claim, as well Ben, as well Chang.

My character is one of the main 7 in the study group, and at times he is an asshole, but at the end of the day he has loyalty and love for his friends and for Greendale.

At night I target someone and they are informed they received a Canister of "Love" (yes, love is in quotes and it's best not to understand why)

Night 1: Ben
Night 2: Chang
Night 3: MZero

Ben and Chang were first as fellow flavor experts I knew they would understand not only my acknowledgement when I gave them a wink during the day, but also the flavor that was implied by it. A Canister of "Love" is a uniquely Pierce thing and could belong to no other characters.

When day 2 went up I said this to Ben:

And if you look at my first post of the game and take the first letter of every sentence it spells CANISTER and the word love is bolded in the paragraph.

What does the canister do? Nothing of course, but when there was discussion about "maybe the Taunt redirected ALL actions" I leaned into that by saying I knew for a fact it didn't. It seemed like a good opportunity to potentially put myself on scum radar and eat a bullet, but alas. All my role actually accomplishes is confirming that I am in fact Pierce Hawthorne.

i had slight 3p worry but ultimately chose not to claim I received the canister outright as it didn't appear to do anything and I suspected it was a pineapple vendor type role

And I fucking knew MI was Magnitude, but I thought he might be Bodyguard. There is an important scene in Season 2 during a paintball episode where Magnitude jumps on a paint grenade to save everyone else in the room. The BG flavor practically rights itself. For Shame, Lea.

And Ben as Buddy, the Bulletproof Neighborizer? I press X to doubt on that shit. It's barely more than a jack black cameo, he's in ONE episode, shows NO characteristics that would allow him to not be killed (but he can do a wicked jump kick? It's Jack Black after all) and nothing that would make him neighborizer-y.

My money has him as either Ben Chang (at the height of his Changlorious Bastard ways) or Vice Dean Laybourne of the Air Conditioning School Annex. Both would make incredible 3rd party flavors,

And Vice Dean Laybourne has a way at getting at people. There is an entire arc where he recruits Troy to join the Air Conditioning repair school despite his unwillingness to participate.

Buddy is a flavor mess and maybe it's just the mother of all flavor traps, but holy shit is it just wrong for that role.

ben copypasta'd a poem in the chat with a couple hours to go in the night and asked me to copy paste it back to him. I googled the poem and found it (extremely obscure and definitely had absolutely nothing to do with Community or the game of mafia, I am certain of this). Essentially it was more or less gibberish.

he told me if i copypaste'd it back to him he could become bulletproof for the night. His flavor explanation was that once buddy was accepted into the group he was extremely hard to get rid of (bulletproof). Again, I didn't really believe him on that particular point but I thought it was reasonably likely I would get to join a cult or do something else cool, so I did it. I think Ben specifically sought out players he thought would be willing to do this task.

I wasn't notified that anything happened to me afterwards whatsoever, so for now the ability still seems benign to me. And from the way this communication channel was set up, it was clear to me that this was not a one-night-only ability, so I wasn't afraid that this was some type of extra kill from scum or whatever.

it's very possible that instead of bulletproof vest charges, we gave him charges of something else though.

similar to how IGCD needs 3 last votes / hammers to power up, maybe Ben does too. Thus far it's been totally benign though, so until something completely crazy happens I think he's safe in my eyes

I feel like igcd content has really leaned heavily on his mechanic more than much else and suspect there's something nefarious at play there. A scan on him would have been nice by now but i understand we can't be getting scans on everyone, Ulti.

It is true that Ben was trying to be accepted into the Study Group, but that's kind of the reverse of a neighborizer. It was him wanted to join others, not him forcing others to join him. And when they decided they didn't want him they did have to drag him kicking and screaming from the room, but that didn't feel very Bp to me, versus characters like Chang or Starburns who at various times faked their own deaths.

I'll try to look at it more from a balance perspective than a flavor one in case i'm just being trapped, but it stands out in STARK contrast to everything else.

I mean I guess the other one close to that would be Ulti's Frankie Dart as Cop claim.

She's was literally only in the 6th Season, and though she was pretty important to that season she's just kind of like an efficient administrative person. Not especially Sleuth-y. But as tenuous as that one is it's 10x better than Buddy.

Also thinking it's entirely possible that the team does not have a strongman shot and in its place they have the one time day kill and Knightz' ability to try and do a "redo" if their kill is blocked by Kirby, given the night kill targets.

I still can't wrap my head around that. That's not an ability you show until you HAVE to use it. So whoever has that role must be COMPELLED to use it every night, otherwise why would they?

I have one other theory about it, but similar to letting MI's flavor (which I thought was BG) I think the less said about it in advance the better <_<

Actually nvm I talked myself out of it. I was considering for a minute that ctes was stuffing his own pockets with votes. That he was removing his OWN votes at night and when he finally stops doing it he'll be able to cast extra votes that day.

But then I realized that would be pretty damn redundant with Lawyer.

Unless it's a scum or 3p effect and our Lawyer is the counterplay to it?
Like for example Ctes stuffs his pockets 4x, and then shows up randomly with 5 votes. But then Chang does his thing and boom, now he controls all 5 of ctes' votes?

I could see those as balancing roles

I'm not bulletproof. I already hinted earlier at that being a test, and also a gambit to make myself never get killed if I did neighbor scum and the info got out. My reaction to Kirby announcing it was real because I didn't understand why he would do that while fully believing I was bulletproof. But he probably just actually didn't trust me for legitimate reasons, as it does make no sense with the flavor. And that's fair, because I did lie about that >_>

Did not think there was any harm in doing that except to potentially hurt the scum team though. Still dont think there's any harm in it. .... I'm not like him! I'M NOT LIKE CORRIK ;0;

I've been wondering if Ctes is some kind of self-votestuffer but you just summed up why that wouldn't make sense yes.
