And it was Hamas (funded and founded by Netanyahu as confirmed by Israeli press to overthrow the former PLO party) along with a few other terrorist groups who started this. The average age in Gaza is less than 18 meaning that most people weren't even alive when Hamas was elected and suspended elections, which was in 2006. This conflict has been going on for decades and Israel's response/instigation is always heavily outmatching the death and damage Hamas causes. They get more than their pound of flesh as retribution, it's just never enough for the fascists within the Israeli government.
