Many think the law is good. They have no argument to why other religious texts also shouldnt be displayed based on this law. They literally just think christianity good everything else had because i said so

You don't need the ten commandments, or indeed any religiosity, to be a moral and decent person.

So the funny thing about the Ten Commandments is, the ones people are familiar with aren't even the "official" set. Moses destroyed the commandment slates when he saw the Isrealites doing the whole golden calf nonsense, so God had to whip up a fresh batch, and of course the first ten (I saw "first ten" because there's around 600 or so commandments but people only care about the first ten) of the new set don't match the first ten of the first set at all.

Isnt the point of Jesus that he came to replace the law and his believers should live in the spirit of love and grace through his redemptive sacrifice? I dont see how making an idol out of the 10 commandments meshes with what should be their living of faith.

The right-wingers ignore that, because much of what Jesus actually preached conflicts heavily with the modern right-wing political platform, so they like to keep their mentions of religion at very surface-level performative identity politics crap that doesn't actually address what their religion actually teaches.

Basically, they have to self-censor Christianity, because if they didn't, their brains would have a meltdown.

This will hit the courts quickly, because there are already teachers saying they refuse to do this. As soon as one (or more) are fired over this, they'll sue the school/state, and up the courts it will go

Then they will turn on a dime the second a state tries to do the same with anything other than their brand of "Christianity."

It doesn't seem likely to me that any state legislatures are poised to enshrine Judaism or Hinduism into law.
