Rating previous games:

Metroid Prime - 10
Disco Elysium - 9.5

Disco should probably be a 10, but I was a little underwhelmed with the abrupt ending and expected it to go wild places. Nonetheless, it probably has the best writing of any game ever.

i mean, only if you go by a "gamespot gave it only an 8.8?! wtf?!" scale

7 is a perfectly fine rating. the game is popular and well-known for good reason, it just isn't necessarily a 10/10 mindblowing masterpiece on the level of stuff like re4. but that's a high bar and not many games will be.
