Even when Kamala wins, Trump will keep being picked as the GOP nominee. Even when he is dead and they just drag his corpse into the rallies and debates. Even when he is nothing but a skeleton 100s of years later and they just have someone ventriloquist his dead body.

In the beginning, Trump was a breath of fresh air from the rotting corpse of Ronald Reagan the GOP had been running on for so long. This would more or less be a return to form.

I guarantee when he wins in a few days that the 25th Amendment becomes his next obsession. Mark my words: he WILL make an earnest play at changing term limits.

Trump cost Republicans 2018, 2020, and 2022.

I guess I would believe that if he loses again in 2024, his cult still wouldn't believe he is a massive loser. If Republicans want to keep losing, by all means keep propping him up as the GOP nominee as long as they want.

I unironically 100% expect this to be the case. Trump will be the nominee until he dies, at which point every nominee will be whoever can most convincingly play the role of "prophet of Trump". They're going to sell themselves on the promise of enacting Trump's will, even long after no one is left who was alive when Trump was.

The republican party doesn't exist anymore. It is the Donald Trump party in all but name. And it's going to stay that way for as long as it's allowed to - which, judging by how it's been handled so far, will be forever.

Eh they'll just get an AI that thinks its Trump to mimic him.

I would not put it past the cult to mimic the Reagan statue from Wasteland 3 and have a Trump super weapon AI that they can worship and pretend to be its wives and sons.

Today (Election Day 2024) I would be very happy with this.

Because the only part of this scenario that is not currently assured is Kamala winning (though I pray she wins).

Trump will be the Republican nominee until he dies, and even after he dies they will still try to prop him up. I assume Don Jr, will become the nominee, simply because he has the same name. But I could easily see the GOP just "weekend at bernies" Trump for the next 100 years as a prop.

The hope would be the GOP dwindles and becomes irrelevant, and the "two major parties" become say the moderate Democrats and the far left liberals.

It's the amendment that comes after the 24th and before the 26th. :)

It's the amendment that deals with removing a President from office. I think he'll make an organized play to cripple it. Won't work.

The 22nd Amendment as well which deals with term limits. More than likely to be on his plate when he wins.

After a bit, the Republican party would be some loony minor party with the gimmick of always running Trump. So I guess my reaction would depend on what the party replacing them as the other major party is like.
