I don't. I was hoping against hope that he could find some way to rebound is all, and look less old and feeble. It's sort of just that, a hope against reality because I know it's impossible.

Biden was the perfect guy to take Trump down because of his lingering popularity, but unfortunately he just made the mistake of growing old and this guy not giving up.

Honestly, I expected him to be winning by more overall, but those minority numbers are still staggering. I don't know how this guy can be any more openly racist yet he still gets so much of their vote.

My husband and I also started Tales of arise again recently.

Actually worth mentioning for Arizona is that according to NYT the entire early vote has been counted already, which might mean we should expect the remaining votes to skew towards Trump (who is already narrowly ahead).

The NYT's exact comment--which is about the extent of my knowledge--is "The Arizona early vote has been counted, and it shows a very close race, but Trump will probably win the Election Day vote by a wide margin. To have any chance to win, Harris would need a decisive victory in the late mail ballots tabulated after Election Day."

Some states counted them prior. Some accept them after but most mail in votes probably are early votes now with covid not a huge thing now.

NYT is a Trump bot, so I wouldn't really listen to them.

It's crazy that with all the hot button issues in this election. All the factors that go into each party, and each candidate. That people are literally going to the polls thinking "I don't want no woman in charge of this country" And thats it. That's the extent of their decision making. If this was just rural rednecks who would vote Trump anyways, it wouldnt really matter, but if its also urban minorities holding this mindset.....that could be the election.

I think my overall thought either way is I am very much beyond blaming individual politicians for not measuring up to standards. Like, many people are voting for Trump based on the "economy" when all evidence shows his economic plans are terrible, but a lot of median voters are just uninformed and ignorant and they will remain that way by design under Republicans.

I thought Kamala ran a fine campaign tbh. Good VP pick. She's not my favorite person but she was sane compared to rambling insanity of a man who has people in russia calling in bomb threats in his favor to try to sow chaos.

It is what it is sometimes. We are who we vote for as a country, just got to... live our lives the best we can.

Even if Harris narrowly wins, this is an indictment on so much of this country. With Clinton I had real gripes about the campaign. This time I'm putting it on the American people tbh.

The comment comes specifically from Nate Cohn, who I do trust, and the argument makes logical sense. Unless he's just straight up lying about the factual content of the statement (which I do not believe) then I think it makes sense to listen to him.

I will say that i dont know a lot of under 25 people.

But most that i know that have any political care are Trump voters.

This is probably the last time I ever vote. I'm in NY and my vote for President is irrelevant anyway, but this country has turned into something I want nothing to do with at all. The damage from his first Presidency never went away.

Georgia numbers are going to be skewed right now due to the bomb threats in all the heavily African American districts.

They're keeping the polls open longer in those districts.

Which is strange because Clinton was an infinitely better female candidate than this Harris. Hillary right now would stomp trump. Trump was unbeatable in 2016. Not even George Bush would have beaten him.

Agree with all of this. I was not excited at all for Kamala but she did a great job. This is a resounding failure and damning indictment of the American people.

Pretty much all LGBTQ is about to get completely wrecked because there's nothing that will stop him from doing pretty much anything he wants since they have both the House and Senate too. Women are going to lose decades of civil liberties progress, and good luck to the minorities.

The primaries on the Democratic side have been a coronation since 2016. I'd love to see a clean fresh primary where the voters actually get to choose a candidate versus being told "This is the frontrunner we want, vote for them." They say a divided primary hurts in the general, but I don't know, Obama did pretty well after winning his long, drawn out fight with Hillary.

i'll agree with this as well, up to the last few weeks.
i don't think anybody would disagree that she easily wins in September but that kind of momentum couldn't be kept up, she did interviews that didn't go so well or targeted the wrong audience, etc.

mind you i'm still not doom and gloom on her winning or not. she totally still can, it's a long night. but her underperforming is pretty notable here - i expected latinos to go trump over her already, ditto black men to have a surge for trump, but not that the semi-young vote just... wouldn't show up. fell for that propaganda there, i thought there was a greater motivation for her.

So, basically, the Ds need to never nominate a woman again because it's fucked us over twice. And I hate having to say that but it's fucking true.

It's not like Dems haven't been voting. There's just no platform to please all the Dems. We seem to have a messaging problem on our side. Only way to win going forward would be to move to the center enough to trick those dumb inbred farmers.

If Kamala loses, I feel confident in saying it's because of Israel/Palestine. That's a factor in which the establishment Dems feel completely disconnected from Gen Z.

I think kamala needs like 75-80% of the vote remaining in Georgia to win it.

Dems have to get used to not agreeing 100% with their candidate. It's just so hard to please people when even a slight disagreement in policy means you aren't voting.

I think the campaign, up to the DNC, was super strong.

Then it fucking fell apart. Kamalas raison d'etre seemed to be bi-partisanship and not an actual attainable goal. She had some good stated policies, but they were never front and center of the trail.

When I pessimist posted a few weeks ago and said I missed the DNC, it was after talking to my very liberal but not particularly plugged in friend who literally couldnt name a single thing Kamala stood for, because the message was just not getting spread.

As I typed this, NC is called for Trump.
