I think he will, but I also hope he does. I'm trans, so my life is going to get worse either way. The only joy I could get from this presidency is if everyone who voted for him is dragged down with me.

I would love for him not to do any of that terrible stuff, but he will because of the way he is.

I'd rather the economy not crash but it honestly looks like a crash or perceived crash is the only way to actually motivate people to vote (outside of the "presses R regardless" bloc)

I'm torn. I don't want things to get worse or for people to suffer. But I also want his voters to deal with the consequences of their choice and realize he's not what they think.

Honestly, kinda. I'm kind of over this harm reduction and constantly being expected to take blow after blow because I'm queer. I'm tired of being expected to take the high road, to be the bigger person.

Let these fuckers reap what they sow. Let them suffer with me. It will be cathartic to hear their cries of regret after us telling them the obvious.

Ultimately, I don't want that to happen. Because those voters will twist themselves in knots finding something else to blame instead of their own actions so it wouldn't matter anyway.

That is pretty much my stance. If we have to suffer, so should everyone else who voted for us to suffer.

I would rather the people who voted for him suffer too, than only minorities suffering. Otherwise it vindicates his policies, and ensures things will never get any better for minorities. The only way for his voters to learn a lesson is for them to suffer economically.

No because then the next president after him will be the one to be blamed for it.

America needs to know who they vote for. They won't know until they feel pain. You can only protect people from themselves for so long.

We have already voted for fascism. Maybe if the economy crashes under fascism it will finally wake people up to the reality that turning to the left is the only solution to the current problems of capitalism.

Being a billionaire businessman doesn't mean you know any more about how the economy works than a financial scholar like Janet Yellen.

Not saying I want the economy to crash, but IF it did crash Democrats need to step up on their messaging. Which unfortunately is an up hill battle given:

- The media loves to grade Republicans on a generous curve, "both sides bad" the situation.

- Republican Messaging 101. Republicans just repeat things regardless if it's true or not. Fuck facts and reality, xyx FEELS this way so it must be true.

- A portion of the Dem leaning base is just not reliable voters, and frankly uneducated too. Specifically the "I feel both sides are identical, so why vote" and the "earn my vote" purists types. It doesn't take much for this bunch to vote one election and stay home the next.

- Democrats seem to be severely allergic to rallying around progress. For example the economy despite everyone and their feels is doing great under Biden. Record unemployment, stocks doing well, salaries going up, crime going down, manufacturing jobs returning to america, inflation caused by Trump going down. Dems didn't message around the economy doing great. Instead the messaging played into the 1st 3 bullets of doomerism, purist rhetoric (everything isn't fixed so it sucks), and Republican Messaging that repeated the economy is in the toilet.

So if it did crash, on top of Democrats being bad at messaging, Democrats also have a uphill battle to message to a small percentage of their base that is highly susceptible to Republican talking points.
