Y'all can actually play a real Hexblade or Bladesinger now, among others. Also, Larian got smart and will add the Toll the Dead Cleric cantrip.

here are the subclasses, for anyone who didn't click the link:

• Bard - College of Glamour: A support subclass that heals allies and commands enemies.
• Barbarian - Path of Giants: Become a burly beefcake that uses their rage to grow in both size and strength.
• Cleric - Death Domain: One for the goths, this subclass focuses on spells that cause necrotic damage, and you can make corpses explode. Fun!
• Druid - Circle of Stars: This celestial-themed Druid subclass gives you three 'Starry' forms with different flavours.
• Paladin - Oath of the Crown: A righteous Paladin subclass, you'll be able to heal your pals by soaking up damage and disrupt your enemies with divine taunts.
• Fighter - Arcane Archer: This magical ranged subclass can banish enemies to the Feywild and batter foes with psychic damage.
• Monk - Drunken Master: Get all boozed up before a fight for the ultimate bar brawl, or intoxicate your foes before aggressively sobering them up.
• Ranger - Swarmkeeper: A Ranger subclass for fans of bees! Not just bees, though: you'll be able to summon swarms of moths and jellyfish too. Why not?
• Rogue - Swashbuckler: BG3 doesn't have enough pirates, but that's about to change thanks to this dirty, skullduggerous subclass that lets you blind and disarm enemies.
• Sorcerer - Shadow Magic: With this subclass you can Shadow Walk between dim places, see better in the dark, or summon a spooky dog.
• Warlock - Hexblade: This Warlock has made a pact with an entity that takes the shape of various magical weapons, and you'll be able to summon the spirits of fallen foes.
• Wizard - Blade Singing: A martial Wizard subclass, Blade Singing splices spells with swordplay and lets you get properly stuck into the melee scrum.

Circle of Stars was the one Druid subclass I wish they had put in Day 1!

This game is going to eventually surpass Ocarina of Time in terms of how much Ive replayed it lol.

Unless I'm remembering things incorrectly, wasn't Arcane Archer a dud of a Fighter class? Will they homebrew any improvements to the subclass?

Druid - Circle of Stars

These Druids look to the stars for answers, accessing powers beyond those offered through the classic wildshapes. Taking on one of three Starry Forms for their power - the constellations of the Archer, Chalice, and Dragon. Each one favours a different play style and strategy - the Archer dealing radiant damage with astral arrows, the life-giving Chalice restoring hitpoints to you and others nearby, and the wise Dragon, allowing you to deal damage with an added bonus to constitution rolls. The Starry Forms offer not just a celestial aesthetic, but practical, powerful options to enhance your role as a healer, fighter, or strategist.

I think they're including homebrew stuff in several of them.

They should call it an expansion/dlc and win GOTY again like Elden Ring

I very much respect larian for not charging people for 12 subclasses. Any other studio would have.

Swarmkeeper looks to be not very accurate to tabletop version. Monk also got a glow up from the tabletop. So very likely Arcane Archer will be improved.

Path of Giants interests me because a part of that subclass is turning any weapon into throw weapons and I wonder how it'll compete with Berserker for throwing builds.

AA is not great, there's only a couple of the magic arrow abilities that are worth taking. Never seen anyone use the class on the tabletop.

I hope Arcane archer isn't as useless as it is in Tabbletop.

I just played a game with one a couple years ago and loved it.

Just finished another run recently...must resist the dark urge to run another playthrough...

They said the Test Patch which you have to register to be allowed to play on is in January. Likely patch 8 will be Q1.

I wouldn't expect Patch 8 to release officially in January. It'll be at least a month before it's pushed out officially so absolute earliest is February.
