the abandon Harris crowd always says one thing and then does something else. Their actions dont align with their words. They are a bunch of liars who wanted trump elected. Thats all they are

first they helped get trump elected. Now that hes elected, they want people to stop shitting on them for helping him get elected.

no you don't want the people responsible to feel bad, that is all you want

also there is no one group unless you mean voters are one group?
Except for the protest voters, whose lack of voting wouldn't have tipped the scales in our favor anyway, every other non voter isn't going to feel bad, no matter how hard you wag your finger. They're too dumb (by design) to know any better. It's like yelling at a special needs person for doing something bad. They're not going to understand.

Meanwhile both the Republicans and establishment Democrats are just sitting back and laughing.

I'm aware that Trump is continuing the genocide that the Biden administration committed to. It's what we were trying to avoid.

You liberals can stop posting that like some kind of gotcha.

Not a single serious leftist thought Trump was going to be better for Palestine.

But pat yourself on the shoulder for seeming to care about innocent people now that it isn't your guy doing the bombing, I guess?

How was not voting for Harris going to stop anything?

Or better yet, which outcome would have been better, knowing Trump's feelings about Israel, Trump or Harris?

I never said they were. I merely pointed out that voting was easier in 2020 due to a nationwide pandemic putting people out of work and making mail-in voting much more widespread.

However, people who were too busy working their jobs to go vote for Harris are the target of these posts. This whole topic is basically whether one puts the onus on the party to convince them its worth taking that time off work or the onus is on the voter to overcome a shitty education system and awful standards of living and the depression that comes with it to motivate themselves to take the time off work for it.

You see the election as for voting for a candidate. I view the election as me choosing an opponent who will do the least amount of harm and can be more easily pressured into enacting the policies I want and since Democrats are more malleable than Republicans, I fill in that circle.

This. I truly dont mean to offend anyone, but this desperation by so many to give voters a complete pass (while often blaming Democrats more than the folks doing the evil stuff) is absurd to me.

The post that caused the response I quoted agreement with says the GOP has spent decades brainwashing people to get to this point. That is absolutely true, and a big reason why a loser like Trump can even sniff the presidency. But that is even more reason why Democrats catching so much heat in the wake of this election is baffling. Here we have an evil bad faith group doing everything they can to lie to the populace, and our big gripe is Democrats didnt do enough to counter 50 years of bad faith? What are we realistically supposed to do when one of the two major political parties decides to completely abandon good faith, short of burning everything down? No functioning government has a safeguard that will absorb that. The only safeguard is voters and elections.

The same post that generated the post I quoted says that voters shouldnt be blamed, because Republican propaganda is so hard to see through. Im sorry, but it is easy, and everyone who cant should be ashamed. We have access to all the information we could ever need with computers in our pocket, plus decades of Trump being a scumbag before 2016, plus a disastrous first term, plus felony convictions, plus an attempt to overthrow the government on live TV. Some people are not interested in politics!! Is not sufficient at this point. I am tired of feeling sympathy for people who are too lazy to care about the things that impact the people around them, or too hateful, or are dumb enough to fall for what is perhaps the most clumsy con in American History, however long running it may be. Yes, it is pretty easy not to fall for the most obvious grift in memory if one chooses to think for five minutes.

I am sorry if this makes some folks uncomfortable, but the GOP bad faith is to blame, followed closely by an electorate that is dumb, hateful and lazy enough to elect an obvious monster to high office twice. The Democrats are a distant third. They ran a shit campaign. Biden didnt get out soon enough. But in a world where a man tries to install himself as a king through violence and the voters that have a duty to hold politicians accountable just shrug, what Democrat message was going to fix this?

Frankly, America is getting exactly the leadership that an electorate that takes freedom and active civic participation for granted deserves. I just wish the consequences werent going to be so severe for those of us that give a shit, or for those who are actively being stripped of their rights and freedoms.
This. 100% fucking this.

To which can be added that this pattern of blame is precisely the same pattern that applied to Germany back in the day, with Nazis most to blame, followed closely by people in Weimar Germany who voted Nazi or failed to vote against Nazis because they were supposedly "fooled" by Nazi propaganda.

Like Nazi propaganda back then, most Republican propaganda these days is based on scapegoating innocent people as the "cause" of all social ills, and that's just evil on its face. Anyone "fooled" by that message is just accepting an excuse for what they are already inclined to do.

The amount of energy spent here going against uncommitted voters as opposed to the far greater number of Trump voters is remarkable. Like, where is this energy for Trump supporters? These people might as well just vote against liberals next time and take less heat that way.
We've told Trump.voters who he was for 8 years.

THEY. DONT. CARE.

They're lost. They're gone. Vapor. Lost to the Trump cult. I'm done wasting my breath talking to them. Now I'm just going to call them the dummies and bigots that they are to their faces.

And people who sat out or voted for Jill "I literally admitted I was only in the race to siphon votes from Kamala" Stein?

We spent the whole election cycle pointing out his AWFUL campaign which was quite literally the worst in modern memory (perhaps ever) and all the signs that it was time to relegate Trumpism to the dustbin of history, and what did American voters do?

They reelected him. Or sat on their entitled asses. And then blew up Google trying to figure out his policies after the fact. Hell, a lot of them DIDN'T EVEN KNOW BIDEN HAD DROPPED OUT.

So yeah, I'm a bit more pissed at the people who should have known better than the brainwashed dummies who are lost causes anyway.

Just remember, yes, your average adult IS a fucking moron that needs to be babied, and most people on the planet regardless of where they are just want to be mostly left alone and live a nice life full of convenience that's just boring enough that they rarely feel threatened but not so boring they get pissy and start causing problems just for fun.

They don't give a shit about wars happening out of sight for the same reasons they don't care about the weather on the other side of planet or what's popular music in (random country here). They just wanna live their lives in relative peace, and that's pretty hard when you're being bled out in end-game capitalism.

youre talking about democrats and republicans offer.

One doesnt listen enough for you and the other one listens even less and actively takes away rights.

Seems a pretty simple choice.

People who say this always forget that staying home is also a choice and a very popular one at that and it's also enough to cause a loss. So, there should be an incentive to get people actively onside.

When you stay home, you say you are happy with whatever happens.

So they'd better smile and say, "This is fine."

If Nazis taking power of the government isn't enough a motivation to get out and vote, then idk what to tell you.
